OMG, those milkshakes...
is this just a coincidence?
is trump a “super spreader”?
is this a republican payback?
There's no conspiracy here, folks. Just plain old-fashioned science. Minimize your exposure (though PROVEN means like masks, social distancing, and washing your hands) and your chances of getting sick are reduced. Not gone, just reduced. Avoid those things and guess what? Your chances of getting the virus are increased. Not a certainty, just increased.
Trump and his circle shrugged off these very simple steps while, by contrast, Biden and his circle followed them religiously. Not hard to do the math here...
has anyone seen the 2017 movie apostasy?
set in britain, the story is about a family, a single mom and her two daughters, who are jehovah's witnesses.
i'm not going to give away too much of the plot, but holy moly!
It looks amazing--thanks for letting me know about it. Also, I think the mother is the same actress that played the ladies maid on Downtown Abbey. Can't remember her name. Cool.
i'm a uc berkeley student researching the effects of disaffiliation from the jehovah's witnesses.
i'm not ex-jw but i am ex-mormon and as your cousin i can sympathize with the struggles we face when we question/leave the religion.. i currently have a survey open which closes on sunday the 20th at 11pm.. if you meet the criteria i encourage you to take the 20-30 minute survey.
-be at least 18 years old-born/raised jw (born in or family converted when you were minor)-"left" at least 6 months ago (left=inactive and questioning/non-believing).
It is not a scam. The consent/information form is standard wording from university institutional review boards.
is it just me, or do they really have increased the number of speakers of color?.
gearing up for more increase in africa perhaps?
(hint: jw box).
STill overwhelmingly white GB (and male, too, but that's another topic.)
so get this, wt has something they're calling a "jw box" that gives people in africa "spiritual food".
the best part, they want donations of $75 for it!
so they don't provide any physical food to people in africa but they can send them "spiritual food" for $75.
It's telling that the video explaining how the box will work concludes by showing a small African girl putting money in the contribution box (so she can be just like Sophie!)
The African JWs are complaining that they can't access spiritual food and have family worship, etc., because they can't watch the videos. Um...didn't JWs manage just fine for, oh, I don't know--that last CENTURY without videos?
i recently created a discord server in order to create a community of exjw and associated ones.
the decision to create it came from a desire to have an inclusive and safe environment for those affected by the wt.
one in which we can share ideas and experiences, and meet other people with similar interests.
Mike1--Can you resend the Invite? It says it is invalid.
my husband insist that i talk to the elders.
it is something i 100% plan on doing for the simple fact of my relationship with him.
i know some of you may disagree but it seems like the best option for us.. problem/question: .
Unlikely, sorry to hear you are in this tough situation. I'm curious as to how your husband justifies his own situation, which JWs would consider weak at best and probably in line to bite it at Armagg. It is one thing for an uber-zealous mate to want you to meet with the elders, something quite different for someone who is barely a JW.
As far as meeting with them, if you think it is necessary for your marriage, based on your husband's wishes, then you probably should go ahead with it. But as others have pointed out, it is likely not to make much difference. Still, if you prepare well and have evidence to back up your "concerns" and keep a calm and mild voice/attitude (you know how JWs esp. elders look for that, particularly in women), it might go okay.
Keep us posted. As a POMO wife to a sweet but still very much PIMI elder husband, I can understand your feelings.
i know i shouldn't--i tell myself this over and over--but i can't help peeking at these silly articles.
and then i see this and my head really starts hurting: so the gannet, if you don't know (and why would you?
) is a seabird that feeds on fish.
I know--the lack of logical thought is mind-boggling.

I know I shouldn't--I tell myself this over and over--but I can't help peeking at these silly articles. And then I see this and my head really starts hurting: So the gannet, if you don't know (and why would you?) is a seabird that feeds on fish. It dives to great depths in its hunting (okay, fishing). So this silly article on JW.Org is all about how amazing the bird's diving ability is, how deep it can go, how easily it pops back up to the surface "when finished diving." What is strikingly omitted is WHY the bird is diving. But of course, that little pebble in the JW shoe is ignored.
What do you think? Did the gannet’s diving ability evolve? Or was it designed?Well, JW, if it was DESIGNED, that means God DESIGNED the bird to eat meat (well, fish). And how do you reconcile that with your literal eisegesis? Hmm?
