Oh I remember the poorly written songs and how dreary some were. Is'nt it funny how they replaced their songs and song books over the years .
Alot like their teachings ,they became out of date ,and yet hymns of the churches can be beautiful and enduring in time. I think this just tells us how the WTS is just an imitator and failure.
Remember the half hearted droning of the congregations ,though sometimes one would hear a spirited singing voice ,undoubtly coming from someone seeking privileges or an over zealous pedophile hiding behind a kingdom song.

@Seabreeze I'm curious to know (as animals have been brought into the conversation) ,if you believe animals have a soul /spirit combined or both things ?
This comes back to the WTS argument with Nephesh ,Ruah etc argument spirit or soul and how are they properly defined in light of the Bible.
The animals live physically like us and eat,defecate, get sickness and old age and die like us.
Do you believe they have a spirit that leaves the body? Where do they go? To me I see them live and die like us, thats the physical evidence.
You bring up things like Terminal Lucidity ,so do they possibly experience the same? Sort of like the fox I saw squashed on the road ,it looked like it was dead but then suddenly raised it's head and made a silent movement of its jaw as if crying out. I guess it was like the man I found on a rainy night who hit the back of a car on his motorcycle , his face was crushed and he was dying and trying to cry out but his jaw was not attached anymore.
See we live and experience similar things in life ,but just because my brain is bigger how come i am supposed to have a spirit/soul that can leave and be saved as a spirit?

by Fisherman ini would belief so but if you can point something out, it can be discussed.. i don’t mean what jw taught in the past that they later realized was not correct and amended.
—unless you think and can show something like that is relevant.. i’ve spoken to a lot of believers from different religions.
i don’t want to bash any religion here under this topic but their beliefs are inconsistent and their reasons are sophistry and made up and grounded on circular reasoning.

From the comments you have given above ,in my opinion your thinking on things shows the WTS has been very successful in taking away any decency you may have had one time ,and replaced it with the creature worship you have for them.
So they may have been wrong, but, hey they are right now and that is all you need (and people should worship them like you do), mistakes have been made but they corrected them.
I find it hard to understand your blind reasoning on the WTS teachings. Some years ago I knew an elder and a MS who staked out a house at night to catch a couple out ,whether they had sex would be up to the couple to reveal. But the joy and excitement the two servants showed in going about this WTS ordained ploy was disturbing.
The way they conducted themselves in other peoples lives was disgusting and the WTS gave them the mental reliance to carry this out. You will probably discount this behaviour as trivial, but consider if it was christian to stake out the couple or see there might have been a core problem that the servants could have helped them with.
If your mental thinking is on this path ,perhaps you are totally taken over in thinking the WTS is right all the time.
Not unlike an OCD person who masterbates to porn habitually but can't see the harm behind the behaviour and the system that creates it!
This is not a personal attack on you but a plead to look outside the box?

Oh you must be talking about the Dutch brother who was wealthy in my area ,he bought some land for a kingdom hall but sub divided some of it for private homes and made out to the authorities it was like a village for parishoners but nearly all were sold to worldly people.
But the hall was built next door, this generous brother was made an elder. Oh did I forget to tell you he molested his daughter for years. Ah the WTS making the most of "unrighteous riches".
The story has a good end though the WTS has ownership of the hall and he died not many years later of Asbestos he breathed in .

I definitely think Vanderhoven7 is winning this round with Fisherman.
When I was in I had naughty thoughts of either Jerusalem being babylon the great ,seems more logical for the people of the times and into the future.
The WTS points to the Religions of this world as BTG ,and says the Political system and the Financial system are a part of the triad of Satan ,but if you look at all of them they have always been whores as a triad. Why can't Babylon the great be them riding the world empire of ,say ,Science and technology ?
Surely Science and technology could be considered a great force and powerful giving the atom bomb and war tools that bring so much misery to so many people. Amongst them are brilliant minds but they can't seem to work out that they are whoring their skills for prestige and fame!
Some may defend them claiming they are saving many thru scientific discoveries ,but is this not just the make-up of a whore ,painting up something insidiously diseased to be attractive? (Oops maybe Science is Babylon)
OK so before you think I'm nuts ,I was trying to demonstrate how flexible the bible is to change any real truthful meaning, at least that was my own original thoughts ,not like the WTS and the likes of them stealing others religious ideas .
