a small kingdom hall needs to be expanded because the facility wasn't big enough for those in attendance.

Shows how cynical the GB is to fool the dumb sheep with this story. We are talking about making construction grade concrete for a public building are'nt we ?
Well I worked for 18 years in the concrete manufacturing industry including the actual manufacturing ,management and laboratory of concrete production ,and I can safely say that you do not use salty beach sand for construction !
As has been pointed out sea water is full of chemicals including salts which will make the concrete go hard prematurely which in turn can cause bad cracking.
Sand that is used in concrete production is washed and screened to remove impurities and the particles are graded in size carefully ,even iff the beach sand was washed to remove salts it is basically a same size grains silica sand with no fine clay type particles which basically makes a "dead" mix, even with the cement added to the mix, it won't be workable and if a concrete pump were used in the placing it would probably jam the pump from it's lack of ability to flow, and finishing the surface would be a nightmare unless lots of certain chemicals such as air entrainers were used to aerate the mix.
Not to mention ,over time, how the salts in the mix will break the cementicious bond and rust the rebar before it's time!
So iff the GB OK the use of this crappy type concrete thru their "theocratic arrangement" and Jehovahs poor judgement of sand choice ,well that just about confirms their standards in religion and building quality, and also how cynically they view the local islanders as poor dumb slobs and how that will be ok for them !
But I bet they would'nt like to use that sand to build the house they live in hoping the concrete will hold the building up - (words deleted here I have to stop that!)

Not in those exact words as I remember but here's what happened
The elder I studied with to baptism had a teenage son who in time was caught up in fornication with a young sister who was known to be bad association. She seduced him ,and he was pretty innocent for a 17 year old witness kid because of his parents.
So he got in to trouble and I got wind of it and got another brother to go see him to snatch him out of the hand of satan. What I did'nt know was some of the elders had found out too and called me and the other brother to the hall for an inqisition.
Well when they started on me they accused me of usurping their headship waving Watchtowers in my face that had no relevance and one even started lying about related things!
I tried to point out that I had told the young man to contact the elders after our personal discusssion ,and also that I did not know the elders had ,supposedly , the situation in hand . They just wanted to rant at me and wanted blood . They DF'd the boy even though after I had spoken to him ,he repented to them straight away!
They hated the boys father who was Chinese /Russian descent and on the body of elders.
I turned to one elder and told him he was a liar and why ,and the German elder I told him he did not apply what was in the Watchtowers said in this case ,and from memory said he acted like Gestapo. Well that did'nt go down too well ,and considering I was only newly baptised I was lucky not to get kicked out too.
I still was a little rough around the edges and did'nt take shit from anyone ,so maybe I did tell them to fuck off!

i will try to post a link.. jtg.. australia.. institutions refusing to join the national redress scheme are "doubling down" on the crime of child sexual abuse, prime minister scott morrison says.. mr morrison and social services minister anne ruston have warned institutions they may lose funding and tax concessions if they fail to sign up by tuesday's deadline and will be named and shamed.. "all institutions are doing in not joining is doubling down on the crime and doubling down on the hurt," they said in a letter to 25 institutions.. "we consider it to be reprehensible that you have failed to sign up to the scheme.".
the jehovah's witnesses is among the organisations that has refused to sign up, arguing it does not have the institutional settings of other faith-based institutions that the redress scheme is designed to cover.. senator ruston is set to name the non-participating institutions on wednesday, when she will announce what action the federal government will take against them.. "we urge you to join the scheme not because of concerns about being identified, but because it is the right thing to do," the minister and mr morrison said.. "it is the right thing to do by survivors and their families and it is what every, decent, honest, australian demands.".

Y.es it was told to us we were equal but I SAW THE LOCAL ANNOINTED treated as special many times, even to the point that two of them had expressed a difference privately that they had a different view of certain teachings but their local brothers accepted this as ok because they were annointed.
Definitely not me lol, then I didnt go to my first meeting till 1974 and studied with an elder who believed the 1975 stuff. I stopped my study for a few years then .

He did come to Australia.
I remember that voice ,high and purposefully dramatic ,although when I heard it live he was near his end and wandered a bit off course and was a little subdued.
It was at Adelaide Oval South Australia in the !980's but I don't recall the name of the talk ,but I do remember the expectation and excitement of the brothers that we were to have an actual visit from him ,as though Abraham himself was coming to talk to all.
I was an attendant (or "security") at the cricket grounds main gate and was to keep it clear for his arrival which was in a large black limo . I recall amongst the attendants a murmur about it being such a grand entrance ,like for a king!
The limo drove in and onto the oval up to the podium for him to speak. I could not listen to all the talk as we were kept busy in our duties as in those days we had bomb scares at assemblies ( though most of them were just suit cases left carelessly and no one knew who belonged to them).
And just like that he was gone in the limo, leaving us to excuse his dramatic arrival and quick exit ,by reasoning he was after all blind and must be a busy man -oh brother what BS.
These were the days when the governing body was supposed to be "faithful and discreet' and I think that alot of JW's did not even know the names of them. Not like today ,the new JW TV gods.
I was left with an uneasy feeling about the arrival and talk of someone who I had been taught was only a man , but the reality was that to most JW's he was really special , and this was duplicity to me and gradually opened my eyes ,amongst other things to the lies.

Why do Jehovah`s Witnesses Shun fellow believers When God and Jesus never shunned even Satan ?

the book of job .. so according to jw`s about 6,000 years ago satan rebelled against jehovah god ,did jehovah disown him there and then shunning him ?.
apparently not as we can read from the book of job centuries later that satan could still come and go freely before the throne of jehovah in heaven .job 1: 6. and apparently he could still do this for centuries later ,that is coming to and fro before jehovah because according to the jw religion he wasn`t cast out of heaven for another 2,000 years until the 20th century .. now in the case of jesus much of what is said about jehovah and satan also applies to jesus before he came to earth.. but even when he was on earth he didn`t shun satan either in fact he allowed satan to lead him around according to the bible account.luke 4:13 so the devil having concluded all the temptations retired from him until another convenient time .so it wasn`t jesus calling the shots here it was satan .. mark 1: 13 he ,jesus, also shared 40 days in the wilderness with satan letting him tempt him .. so their was no way either jehovah or jesus ever shunned satan the devil according to the bible writings.. and when jesus ascended to heaven after his sacrifice he along with his father jehovah still had association with satan the devil until he was cast out of heaven 2,000 years later ,according to the jw`s..

This seems very reasonable ,but then we are talking about people who have left their reasoning skills at the door.
And the response from them to the inconsistency you have pointed to is probably along the lines of "oh yeah but we are only human they are spirit creatures"
Like Bethel can have books from other religions but you can't because holy spirit is at Bethel and the top brothers are protected.
