Christmas traditions
by tec ini thought it would be nice to start a thread with some of your favorite christmas traditions... especially for those who are just beginning to celebrate christmas.
we open a gift on christmas eve.
when i was a kid, it was always a new pair of pajamas.

This is my first Christmas, and also OUR first together, but we've decided on a few things to be traditions.
Tree goes up after Thanksgiving dinner (same night) as we listen to Christmas music.
Every year, we will get one ornament for ourselves as a couple, and one for our children.
Christmas Eve will be spent watching Christmas movies and snuggling in PJ's, probably with some sort of baked goods. When the kids are with us and when we have kids together, we will read the Night Before Christmas and other Christmas stories to get them excited for Santa.
Christmas morning, BF and I will sleep in (unless the kids are with us, then that's considered inhumane treatement lol). I will make a nice breakfast and we will open presents. Later on, a big dinner of ham or turkey with all the fixings.
The tree will stay up until New Years day.

Attn: Nurses, Psychologists, anybody in the Medical Field

she has been going to the health clinic frequently lately.
i saw her today and she is very hyperactive and feeling good.

Some medications can cause hyperactivity. Others can cause sluggishness. I had one that had the unfortunate side effect of "excessive yawning"...that was NOT fun. I must have yawned 100 times a day...

@Shirley: Ja Rule did an interview a while ago (it's on YouTube) about how it was growing up with his mom being DF'ed... He said now that he's famous, her family calls her up just to chat!! Whereas before, they acted like she was the scum of the earth...friggin' hypocrites!

That was so racist, Outlaw. I'm shocked (33.3%) and dismayed (66.6%)
You're missing .1%, FYI... Is that the part that agrees?? *giggle*
mrsjones, congrats and I hope everything works out the way you want it to!
As for the great Chicken Debate, I'm torn. I like Popeye's spicy chicken and their cajun gravy, but I love KFC's grilled chicken and their mac & cheese... Chester's is "meh"... And Chicken Express is okay, but dang their chicken gives you the walkin' farts! We got the family size chicken strip meal one night and we sounded like the horn section of the orchestra...

Religious People Live Longer
by mankkeli inregular involvement in religious activities goes hand in hand with better physical health and a longer life, according to a statistical analysis of 42 independent studies published since 1977 that have addressed this issue, states science news.
religious involvement, especially the public type, showed a statistically significant relationship to higher survival rates, the scientists say.
several reasons have been proposed for the findingsthe shunning of risky behaviors, marital stability, less depression associated with matters beyond direct control, greater social contacts, and positive emotions and attitudes.

Well, mankkeli basically cherry-picked the parts of the article that support his theory that we should all high-tail it back to the Kingdom Hall...
Hmmm I seem to remember the Watchtower doing the very same thing with important subjects like the cross, the Trinity, the No Blood policy, evolution...
Should we really be surprised that he's emulating the cult he so loves?
