  2 year old in China run over-people just walk by

  when i saw this article on the news it really disturbed me.

  the callousness of the 'people' walking by this poor, sweet baby as she lay writhing in pain and all alone, was horrific to say the least.

  my blood truly felt like it ran cold and i've been thinking about this little girl all night.

  BTW, I find it strange when people jump to the defence of the by standers and trucker with some psychology rubbish that a pompous collage grad pulled out their ass.

  In australia people often die saving the life of strangers. We even had people jumping into the line of fire when a ganster was shooting his girlfriend. the girlfriend died along with the good samaritan (who wasnt even a citizen) who was shot.

  I would like to see how many walk walk past a bleeding girl without doing anything in Australia.

  As for china, I think the only excuse for walking past a dying infant and not so much as pick up a phone would be if they have become so desensitised to death that they no longer feel empathy. Maybe they have seen so much horror that they no longer care

  so there are a few here saying that chinese are rude, it's part of their culture.

  But when they come to australia they seem overly polite. Why is that?

  I have noticed some at supermarkets just walk right into you but I always figured that was because in china there is no space so they have no idea about personal space.

  If You Were God How Would You Prove You Existed

  i ask this because obviously everyone has different criteria, hence why we have muslims who think quran is the more than enough proof, christians who think the bible is perfect proof and atheists who believe that nothing yet has been proof enough of gods existence.. living with humans we all must have a good idea of human nature (god should certainly know) so what would you provide as proof if you were god to convince the masses of your existence?.

  if you were a christian would your proof surpass that contained in the bible, would you provide less proof?.

  if you are atheist would you provide a mathematical equation or a series of supernatural events that fulfill prophecies every 100 years?.

  Living with humans we all must have a good idea of human nature (God should certainly know) so what would you provide as proof if you were God to convince the masses of your existence?

  If you were a Christian would your proof surpass that contained in the Bible, would you provide less proof?

  If you are atheist would you provide a mathematical equation or a series of supernatural events that fulfill prophecies every 100 years?

  If you agnostic, what would you require to really make you believe in a personal God. What amount of proof made you agnostic rather than atheist?

  this morning i came across this thought provoking comment in a cnn news article:.

  harris zafar, national spokesperson of the ahmadiyya muslim community usa, does not mince words on the subject, stating in a huffington post opinion piece that "islam prescribes absolutely no punishment for apostasy.".

  i think you need to compare the worst with the worst. I watched a video recently about muslims in africa who nailed a little boy to a tree for sneaking into a church. They gang raped a little girl to death for some other minor sin like mispronoucing a Islamic word. Compare that to the worst case of apostate shunning in the Org and I think you'll get a more realistic picture.

  I dont read the watchtower so i dont know what it's meant to mean, but let me guess

  A normal person would say "ohh poor sheep got attacked, poor thing" but JW's arent normal so it couldnt be that

  Could it be that the wounded sheep wasnt reading it's watchtower and is now suffering spiritually? Wouldnt we rather be the healthy sheep who is upright and prepared to follow gods directions, or the stupid sheep that is weak and vunable?

  i was thinking about how inefective the ministry really is, no matter how often one goes to a householder's door for years.. they just never bite the bate, yet the jw will keep going back.. jw's are clueless.

  they need to know the signs the hhs give them.. it reminds me of that book he's just not that into you..

  I remember most return visits just liked a chat on a saturday morning. There are allot of lonely people in the world. Most of them would loose their cheerfulness when religion was brought up so it was mostly 90% chit chat and 10% "here's the newest WT, it's about.... I hope you enjoy it...and how are your kids doing at their new school?"

  NOBODY was intently interested and hanging on every word. If you asked them if they read last months they would always say "ohh yeah .. i had a bit of a flip through"

  Basic ground rules for debating the existence of god or lack thereof

  i can accept, as a matter of logical fact, that nobody can in the literal rather than colloquial sense prove that there is no such thing as a god.. this, like many other axioms sets the stage for an actual conversation about the evidence, here are a few i've gathered, would appreciate your opinions, and maybe additions to the list.

  i'll toss out five to start.. .

  1 - it is impossible to prove there is no god whatsoever.. 2 - only a god concept which is well defined can be proven not to exist if it's prescribed traits prove to contradict evidence or become logically contradictory.. 3 - demonstrating an event or phenomena which is not yet explained by science does not prove the existence of god(s).. 4 - an appeal to personal revelation or experience is useless to anyone else, as you cannot provide evidence of it, and it is not repeatable.. 5 - a natural explanation is always logically more likely than a supernatural one..

  You cant prove a negative

  Scientists cant set out to prove that elma fud DIDNT invent black holes. If scientists have no alternative explaination it gives no strength to the "elma fud" theory.

  Debating about God involves too much emotion. Because God kills you if you dont belive he exists. It's better to debate whether aliens introduced life to earth. Or whether a magical teapot can read our thoughts. If you can prove either of these claims faulse then maybe we can debate God.

  someone i'm in contact with who works with a religion news website is interested in the conference, since i emailed them with a link to the australian newspaper article posted here.

  they are wondering what conference this is referring to.. i can't open pdf's on my phone, so i need your help!

  after an intensive internet search, these were the only documents i could find.. can anyone tell me what they say etc.

  It has come to my attention that you have been bringing to light the questionable chartable status of religious organisations.
  Jehovah's Witness benefit from their status as a charity while they do no charitable work other than proselytising. Almost all money is donated by members who often have to pay for their own kingdom halls which in turn becomes property of the organisation who already have millions in other property investments.
  Jehovahs Witnesses are commanded to shun ex family members should they leave the organisation and this means that mothers refuse to talk to their own children, and grandparents are shut out from their grandchildren.
  The Herald sun recently highlighted how Jehovah's Witnesses are poisoned against ex members
