hi all, i've been reading this site for about a month now and decided it was time to jump in.
it is truly a blessing to have people who know exactly what we are going through.
some background, i'll keep it short:.
I definitly believe in God and his son Jesus and everlasting life, no matter
what form that will take (awildflower).
awildflower, Just to let ya know, I am too for that statement. Welcome. You are so lucky to make a decision much earlier for your self and the kids. Some of us here are still having issue with part of families stuck in that wasteful organisation. Let me assure you, we will do our best to share with you our experiences. Welcome aboard.

many people have expressed their appreciation for the video on you-tube regarding the jws.
the excerpt on you-tube is a clip from a professionally made video about the wts and jws.
the purpose of the video, and two others at the time (interviews with dr. james penton and grace gough/mouthy) were to raise enough funds to eventually get a full length movie that would expose the wts as a cult.
Great and promising job, Lee Mash.
Keep up.

with the talk lately of the bone pointers snooping on facebook, etc....and the fact that they do sniff out this board.... do you think they actually register and participate here...or just read and try to figure out locations, familiar sounding scenerios, etc.
to try to pinpoint people?.
do you think any of these snoops have ever blended in as "one of the gang" to lure information from people?.
I think people should not be afraid of being caught. Even if this site is being spied on by elders or their cronies, be assured that once they start reading our postings, they get educated, enlightened' or exposed to opposing opinions, something that they are not used to. You never know, some may end up joining us after some sometimes. We should be grateful that now we are the expert of sorts in as far as breaking off from the Borg is concerned.

i've been learning about ex-mormons recently and was astounded at the similarities, right down to using tm.. here's a free pdf i worked up that compares the similarities..
Rebel,
What a good comparision! As am Ex-JW, I can relate with many of them with amazement but i did not know much about the mormoms before. Many thanks for this kind of research piece.
Peace

shunning is certainly very bad.
it has a very serious personal, social, and psychological remifications.
regardless of one's age, it looks like alot of people are finding it hard to overcome its consequences.
The Research Lady and Quietlyleaving, thank you for your views. Thoughtful comments like those generates mores discussions and in the end, help us to get a better view of the situations and to aid those currently being shunned.

Shunning is certainly very bad. It has a very serious personal, social, and psychological remifications. Regardless of one's age, it looks like alot of people are finding it hard to overcome its consequences. I do not want to blame them. By and large,it appears that shunning tends to hit hard families where more than one members is a JW as oposed to those who are not. If all my family members are not JW except me alone, it will not matter alot as far as shunning is concerned. Howver, those with families, I can imagine how hard it will be. Because the WTS is alleged to have been selective in the way it applies shunning policies and practices, this raises very profoundly and disturbing questions: Is Jehovah God behind the shameful shunning practices? Or has the WTS merely used shunning as a powerful tool of control and manipulation of the ranks and files of JWs for its selfish ends? If Jehovah God would allows the Devil to be present among his good angels in heaven and even go a head to speak to him, is not it logical to conclude that the WTS has grossly misapplied the practices of shunning? Why not Jesus could have shunned Judas who betrayed him but instead, went a head to socializes with him even eat food with him? Please, what do you think abou this?

suspect: victim depressed and asked to be killed.
san bernardino sun - san bernardino,ca,usa.
by mike cruz a perris man killed last august on a forestry road in lytle creek was depressed over being shunned by his congregation of jehovah's witnesses.... see all stories on this topic.
Too bad really. The WTS is quilty of indirectly encouraging this woeful practices of shunning, same with blood transfusion which save lives.

i hope you don't think i'm blowing my own horn by posting this information about my latest blog.
i spent a lot of time researching this subject and i think some of you folks might like to have this material in your files for future use.
it was a tedious project, but i learned a lot.
Hi Barbara,
The affectionate term "gradma" was used in this instance as a recognition of your current age status, a sign of respect and the fact that your ground research work at the WTS many years ago, not only lead others to take a stand many years later, but also inspired several webisites we see today. I think its somethinig of amazement that you are still alive and around here to send some posts. I think we at the JWN are blessed to have people like you with sharp minds respond so fast and to continue engage in issues so important to the rest of us including those with curious minds within the WTS.
Thank you
