  Cantleave, I am afraid you're mistaken... You can't use the James Web Space Telescope to look for God, everyone knows that.. You must use the Large Hadron Collider and peer deeply into the tinest bits of subatomic particles. He's there... trust me

  All kidding aside, This country needs needs to promote science and technology jobs, and the space administration is a part of that. The fact that anyone in congress is suggesting to cut NASA's budget shows extreme myopic vision and I would hope that these individuals come to the senses soon.

  American culture needs to develop a vision beyond the next three months. Companies and Individuals only looking at the next financial quarter is part of the reason why our economy is in the tank.

  The rational me agrees that the Shuttle was a bad design, it was to many things to to many people and became a "bloated cargo van to the stars."

  But I still remember being a kid watching the first Columbia launch and landing -- how inspiring! I'm sort of emotionally attached to them. And I'm not a big fan of ballistic reentry capsules.

  Twitch, thanks for that video of Rush, Im a Rushaholic! Signals is one of my favorite discs, with Countdown being near the top of list. Yeah, 1981,2 were big years for me :)

  What We Could Lose if the James Webb Telescope Is Killed
  

  NASA's James Webb telescope, the successor to the Hubble, is on the chopping block. With the U.S. Congress arguing over fiscal matters, one of the things that may get cut is NASA's budget , with the expensive James Webb telescope potentially getting the ax. If that happens, a generation of scientific discoveries about the nature of the universe may need to be put on hold.

  Right now the future of the Webb telescope, scheduled to launch in 2018, is uncertain. Congress is looking to cut costs, and NASA's budget could be cut by as much as $1.6 billion (or about nine percent of its overall budget). Such a big cut would certainly be the death knell for the Webb telescope, which has so far cost $3 billion but whose final price is expected to hit the $6.8-billion mark.

  Growing up a Jehovah's Witness - New Video

  i have put together a video - growing up a jehovah's witness 1960 -2010. it aims to show the things a witnesses would be taught as they age over those decades.

  it is 15 minutes long.

  this is my first attempt at a video and it took a while to work out how to use final cut, so please feel free to make suggestions if anything should be changed.

  i learned about y'all in the second grade, and fell in love with your beautiful land.. my geography book was filled with pictures of your wheat fields, lakes, rivers, and smiling people.. one of the ancestors, an aunt of hank aaron, used to regale us with wonderful stories of her visits to your country: the cleanliness, the warmth and friendliness of the people, and the lack of overt racial prejudice.. later on, i read about the underground railroad.

  my heart swelled with admiration and respect as i found out how your country welcomed fugitive slaves.. my resolve is to visit y'all one of these fine days and see for myself what i've been told.

  my little jw daughter and her dad have been there, and they both agree that canada is a land of freedom and opportunity.. to the canucks on this here forum, i salute you, as you only reinforce what i've been told about y'all.

  i just happened upon one of his posts, and i realized i hadn't seen him post in over a year.

  i really enjoyed his insightful comments and scholarly knowledge.

  he and leolaia could always contribute to those difficult biblical questions that really required a knowledge of the languages and history of biblical times.
