for those who might think that us has a chance of getting out of their debt without defaulting or hyperiunflation in the near future.
at present all eyes are focused on europe and us dollar strengthens but once the european mess is dealt with, with whatever the outcome, the focus will return on us debt and you can bet your dollar the us dollar will drop.

...not sure if this has already been posted.
it is from a sociology professor's blog, but it is written by his friend, who manages assets for wealthy clients.. http://sociology.ucsc.edu/whorulesamerica/power/investment_manager.html.
i sit in an interesting chair in the financial services industry.
Good definition there Beks :) It looks like these guys are giving you a pretty good workout...
Remember Muscle Mass is only part of the full body health equation... you need aerobics and cardio to balance that off with... Maybe you should Kiss the Monkey .. or try running from him instead
as i have posted, my daughter ali has been in the cardiac intensive care unit since thursday.
her bp, heartrate and blood sugar went sky high, due to horrible coughing spells from a chest cold that left her gasping for air.. she has congestive heart failure, and has been treated for almost a year now.
she has improved over that year, but this was a real setback.. ali called me today with amazing news.
Wow.. Simply amazing, a Cardiologist with heart! (sorry I just had to).
What great news.
Sincerely,
darthfader.
with all of the legal mumbo jumbo and technicalties that the organization uses (recently brought to light in the australian case), i couldn't help but wonder what power the "no longer one of jehovah's witnesses" really has or even means from a technical standpoint, since the organization is so technical.
we know what it means when the announcement is made, but in reality, so-and-so never really belonged to any of the groups in the first place.
the law says that association or membership is voluntary, therefore the organization has the right to expel and shun someone for not following the guidelines expected of members.. what are the rank and file members of?.
Thinking about the Tetragrammaton.... Maybe the name "YodhHeWawHe" -- or Just "Yoda" for short..
I could see worshipping Yoda..

If any announcements are made about me or my family... I will NOT go to the hall... I will NOT entertain their questioning... I will not speak to them unless they want to chat about the weather or computers or the latest shade of housepaint...
cheers

Back on topic... We are just now putting some halloween decorations on the outside of our house. I haven't even spoken to a witness in 4 years -- Havent been to a memorial in over 10 years and meetings much longer. I haven't been in FS for probably 15 to 18 years. So I wonder how long it will be before we get a knock on the door asking us what we are doing?
I'm hoping they all forgot who we are...
did any of you guys have these at your book study?.
When I was young, there were treat nights, but then the CO came and put the kabosh to it. It was a time for study not socializing and there were other bookstudies that didnt do it - which caused some "envy" among brothers.
Yeah, we used to have congregation get-togethers and used to go to Magic Mountain back in the 70s. There were some grand weddings also complete with bands and booze. That all ended about the same time.
I thing the GB wanted to keep the Rank and File divided and isolated -- so much better to control them.
<ugh>
The counter-revolution
People smiling through their tears
Who can give them back their lives
And all those wasted years?
All those precious wasted years
Who will pay?
They will change occassionally because you like most people on the internet do not have static Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. Your ISP (Cox cable company in my case) has a pool of IP addresses that it will rotate through. Sometimes you can have the same IP address for weeks or maybe even months. Once IPS works on their systems and clear the cache, the next time your router/firewall or PC (if you connect directly [which is risky]) is connected, you can get a new IP address -- which will last for days/weeks/months depending.
I havent looked at mine recently so after this post I check it out.
cheers -- and happy "surfing"
I read the wikipedia article about the POA here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pledge_of_Allegiance
Interesting about the addition of "under God" to the text:
Prior to February 1954, no attempt to get the Pledge officially amended succeeded. The final successful push came from George MacPherson Docherty. Some American presidents honored Lincoln's birthday by attending services at the church Lincoln attended, New York Avenue Presbyterian Church by sitting in Lincoln's pew on the Sunday nearest February 12. On February 7, 1954, with President Eisenhower sitting in Lincoln's pew, the church's pastor, George MacPherson Docherty, delivered a sermon based on the Gettysburg Address titled "A New Birth of Freedom." He argued that the nation's might lay not in arms but its spirit and higher purpose. He noted that the Pledge's sentiments could be those of any nation, that "there was something missing in the pledge, and that which was missing was the characteristic and definitive factor in the American way of life." He cited Lincoln's words "under God" as defining words that set the United States apart from other nations.
President Eisenhower, though raised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, had been baptized a Presbyterian just a year before. He responded enthusiastically to Docherty in a conversation following the service. Eisenhower acted on his suggestion the next day and on February 8, 1954, Rep. Charles Oakman (R-Mich.), introduced a bill to that effect. Congress passed the necessary legislation and Eisenhower signed the bill into law on Flag Day, June 14, 1954.[ 12 ] (Bolding mine)
The phrase "under God" was incorporated into the Pledge of Allegiance June 14, 1954, by a Joint Resolution of Congress amending ยง7 of the Flag Code enacted in 1942. [ 12 ]
my daughter, ali, is back in the hospital.
probably something wrong with her pacemaker.
she had a cold with a bad cough last week, and a lead may have come loose.
Im so sorry to hear about your daughter. It's terrible being away from ones children (our daughter is on the other sude of the US), but it's all the worse when they are in tough times.
