Fantastic news! Going to college is definitely worthwhile if you can afford it. I have a Bachelors degree (won't say in what, that would be a giveaway), and it feels nice to have finished something. May have taken 4yrs, but was so worth it.
May I suggest teaching? You would make an excellent one I think :)

See you in Paradise
by Mattieu ini was looking through a relatives photo album last weekend and saw pictures of their trip to an international convention in asia in the early 1990s.
on the final day the local bro & sis were all holding placards with phrases such as see you in paradise.. that reminded me of the last international i went to in sydney about 5 years ago, same thing happened on the last day, similar placards with similar phrases.
there was also a lot of random hugging of bro & sis in international costumes.

There are some photos of the recent conventions doing the rounds on email, with the same sort of phrases you mentioned. Nauseating for sure!

Abortions are evil since Jehovah "see's even the embryo" yet killing worldly babies at Armagedon is okay!
by Witness 007 inyes the bible says "jehovah see's the embryo and all it's parts are down in writting..." so abortion is evil and murder according to the watchtower.
how is this different to the gret jehovah killing millions of babies at armagedon because their parents said "not interested" to brothers during witnessing?
those babies are not yet "self aware.

What's the view on IVF? I've always wondered that, seeing as the Dr implants fertilised embryos. Does that mean that as a witness, ALL fertilised embryos need to be put into the womb? Otherwise, the other ones would be considered as 'life'....

Some more:
saying 'bless you' when someone sneezes invites demons into your home
having magazines with horoscopes in them, lying around the house invites demons into your home
watching anything remotely demonic, spiritistic, involving 'angels' on tv invites demons into your home

by White Dove ini'm wondering what the stats are on re-activated jw's staying in or leaving the second time around.
i left twice for a couple of months the first time and a year the second time, but finally left for good the third time.. i just found out that my neighbors are jw's but have been out for a while.
the jw's in our area just came by and re-activated them.

those stupid sister talks!
by highdose inam just remembering the awful headache that came with having to put say " how do we know that mary was a virgin?
" subject matter , into a "first call" setting with a " work on gestures" ... all together into a script that would kinda make sense!!
all in 5 mins with at least 2 scriptures used, both of which normaly seemed to have nothing to do with the subject matter!.

I always hated giving talks. I don't mind public speaking at all, in fact, I do it as a profession...but giving talks..couldn't stand it! Many years back I opted to just be a householder, but in the end, I just refused those too. Don't have the desire to be stressed out preparing a talk.
