Thanks for your reply Chris
In answer to your question, I don't know, other than there have been many media articles and programs over the years suggesting artifacts from the ark, and pieces of it have been found. I've looked at many websites, this one was interesting:
which shows lots of pictures, aerial photos etc.
If it is indeed Noah's ark, then the bible would be right. Right? Still trying to get my head around all this.

Sorry if it's been covered before....
I'm struggling with the flood. Media has reported over the years finding bits of this and that (the ark) on top of a mountain. Seashells are often found high on hills or mountains. Bones of creatures found high in the mountains. You get the picture. So does this prove the flood really happened? For those that say no, can you tell me how you dismiss these finds? I'm just really stumped about what to believe

I haven't done it but I know that when a woman orgasms, there is alot of pressure in that area and sometimes that might be expelled as wind when she climaxes. I have heard of women after sex having alot of wind (gas).

According to bookstudy, it's ok to beat wife.....occassionally
by JWinprotest ini apologize if this has been mentioned, but i don't have the time to come on here as often.
yesterday's bookstudy on divorce got my shorts in a bit of a knot.
apparently, according to the god's love book, a wife could consider legal separation from her husband if she is physically abused, but (get this) only in the case of extreme physical abuse, and if the wife's life is in danger.

Only read the first page here, but the word 'extreme' got my attention other day when someone started the thread with this info in it. My dad always told us growing up that 'once is too much' and that we never had to stand for it and to leave if our future husbands did this. So I have that mentality, that one hit is one too many. The same can be said for mental/emotional abuse. BUT, having grown up with this train of mind, what did I do when my husband subjected me to a few hits and constant emotional abuse? I stayed. I felt I had nowhere to go, even though I'm extremely close to my family. I thought he would change, that he didn't mean it etc.
Eventually HE left, and I have been much happier within myself since. When I told my family the ex had hit me a few times, they just burst into tears. They wondered what they had done to raise a daughter who stayed in such a situation. I assured them it wasn't their fault.
I know MANY sisters who put up with physical abuse. I also know many 'worldly' ones who tolerate the same. I do not however, like the way the emphasis in 'christian' witness marriages says one can separate in cases of 'extreme' physical abuse. It's deplorable.

Swine Flu
by purplesofa inwell, i was wondering if anyone here has had swine flu?.
i got it last week.. my son, daughter and granddaughter have it now.. jada was sent to the emergency room at the childrens hospitol here yesterday.
her symptoms were bad and she is under two.. so they sent her there.. the entire emergency room staff, security etc were wearing masks.. apparently it is getting worse here, the amount of cases.. it was a brutal sickness, i can't imagine babies and elderly dealing with it well at all.. although, i got sick with the symptoms a week ago, i feel very weak and tired and have a terrible cough still.. i read on one site the symptoms being disorientation and confusion, which i experianced.. has anyone here had it, how did you survive it?.

Purps, yes, you should still get the shot if you've had swine flu. That's what all the printed info over here is saying, as well as my Dr saying that too. He said it does no harm if you've already had H1N1. As for the housecall...lol. Doesn't cost a thing either .

A sense of pride and new found confidence
by highdose inhey guys!
i'm back from my first ever date with a non jw guy!
i'll tell more about that later, but as i was on the way there i remembered about how i used to pray before meeting a jw date, ( none of which ever worked out) and i realised that not praying and not attributing everything good to god has really boosted my confidence and thereby my pride.. it means that whatever goes right in my life is down to me and my hard work.

I would've thought women. Not an educated guess, but from what I've seen over the years, the sisters have alot on their plates. What with obedience/headship pressures, being role models by being on the field during the week while raising children, then fetching and carrying for the family in readiness for night meetings, then the weekends are totally full with worship too - they tend to burn out. I know in my area particularly, more women leave than men.
