in a time before many of you were born... assemblys had a great food... i left before the food started getting bad... .
i am totally amazed at reading... how food at assemblys got worse and worse... until finally food was`nt served at all... .
back in the day... food at assemblys was pretty dam good... there was quality cooking back then... jehovah`s witness`s actually looked forward to meals at assemblys... .
Darthfader...yes, scripts...thanks for remembering that. I couldn't remember the word. It was always announced at our assemblies to put unused scripts in the contribution box, as they counted as money.
Dissed - so true about assemblies being a meeting place for couples. I remember dreading assemblies because I thought it would be another year I would have to go single if I didn't meet anyone...lol.

for some reason i thought it only meant not going witnessing.. for instance, years ago i went to every meeting, but not on field service.

For instance, years ago I went to every meeting, but not on field service. Thus was I counted as a publisher in the stats? Or deemed inactive? Can someone please clarify this for me?

I attended one day of the district convention this year and felt sick to my stomach when in the closing talk, the brother finished with 'we will see you here next year brothers, if the end has not come beforehand'. I don't know about anyone else, but even at my most zealous in the 'truth', I never wanted the end to come! I could never get excited as some do about the end of this system. I really don't want to go to any more assemblies!

this is just an obsevation from me...ok i dont mean to annoy anyone but is it true or just me?.
i feel that ones raised in the truth are so much better of than us who came in from the world.
i say that because they have family who are witnesses too.
Its pictures like that which scare the crap out of kids (and older ones)....which I remember making me scared to go to sleep each night.
I knew a brother here, whose father is scottish, and wanted to wear a kilt to his KH wedding but the elders flatly refused. It was a big deal to the brother, so he opted to marry outside the KH, and was counselled for it. Petty wasn't it?
Do the brothers really wear kilts to the meetings there??
My dad is scottish :) We all live in Australia though (I'm first generation Aussie)...
