Would YOU Have Refused Blood To Remain Faithful To Your JW Beliefs?
by minimus ini believe that most witnesses would refuse blood to show their faithfulness to jehovah's law on blood transfusions....( that sounds silly, huh?).

I did and it caused a lot of problems that jws don't like to mention. Yes you may survive the blood loss but it can and does damage the body.
Currently I have tried to make sure any hospital I have occasion to visit for whatever reason takes JW out of my religious choice. This happened just recenlty, I went for a mamogram and the paperwork listed me as a JW. I had it changed that moment even though I was in no danger. If I ever come to the ER and there is any question about blood, I want them to have NO reason not to give it to me.

I Was Asked To Perform A Marriage Ceremony But Don't Know I'm Qualified
by minimus inmy girlfriend's daughter and her fiancee asked me to marry them last night.
they live in connecticut and will be married in new york.
i felt honored that i was asked but i don't think i can do it because i am not a clergyman or minister and my u derstanding is that only clergy or judges and lawyers and justice of the peace can perform a wedding ceremony and marry a couple.. does anyone have any information on this subject?

Are you still recognized as one of JW"s? ie, active and known to still be one by the congo or your neighbors etc? If the congo knew you married somone could they claim you were not a minister b/c you were no longer active, etc If not, what qualfies you?

From A Bublical Point Of View Did You Ever Think The Trinity Doctrine Made Sense?
by minimus ini see no logic in it.
i see what appears to be some scriptural contradictions but i see no merit in a trinitarian view of god.. .

also, we are imposing our interpertation of what makes up a body or a person on the spirit world. 3 humans can't be in one body and we can't pray to ourselves but that is imposing human limits on the spiritual world.

If not taken literally, yes I can see how it makes sense. There is the father , son and holy spirit. That is 3, and they can all be one in purpose. If trying to create a 3 headed monster, yes it sounds strange.

Sounds like he is really happy. As long as she is keeping him happy, well I think the family should probably chill. Of course he is not thinking clearly- he probably hasn't had good sex ( or any sex other than with himself) in years and now he is doing "IT" again.
If the kids don't need the money, no problems. It is sad he is cutting them off and that is the only part that bothers me. But who knows whose idea this was, hers or his? She indeed may be a professional but how many years does he have left? He'd be Ironman if he made it until 90.
The clock is running at 82 ( and before) If this happens to me and I meet a younger guy who makes me this happy, my family can "bite me". If I get the chance to do the horizontal boogy until my dying breath, Thank you Je*sus.
Unless you see definite signs of fraud on her part, let the guy enjoy the time he has left.
Has anyone thought to have her checked out? might not hurt.
he does sound a tad "off" cutting off communication with grandkids etc. What you gonna do, commit him?

Four Levels of Shunning
by Londo111 inremember: the word shun means to avoid, especially persistently.. level 1. official watchtower policy makes extreme shunning mandatory for those disfellowshipped or disassociated.
there are, of course, two loopholes:.
(1) one is not shunned if living in the same household...but this works as long as one is not kicked out of their own home (like raypublisher was) or if the jw decide to leave as a consequence.. (2) one may do necessary family business..but this is open to interpretation and obviously relations are very uncomfortable and strained.. but for those two loopholes, a jw may not speak to the person shunned, not even to say hello.

I hope you don't mind but I quoted the first post on face book. I removed all idenfifters and just said it was quoted. ( including raypublisher's name and your name- it has no identifers at all but retains quote marks and I clearly said it is quoted.
I have never seen this wirtten out so well and I thought it was worth sharing.

Why can't JW's just admit they've got some things WRONG
by yadda yadda 2 innew light???.
show some humility, grow some balls and admit for once your religion has got things wrong!!.

they would open themselves up to lawsuits and that would hurt the bottom line of their business. The WTS is a business and many peoples lives and careers are involved . To just admit they are wrong would be destroying this business and so many mens lives who have built their career around this business. No way they will ever admit they were wrong- they just wait and water down the doctrines and call it new light and then DF apostates and wait unitl the older jws die off b/c the new ones don't remember the way it used to be. They tell the new ones not to even read the old literature , making it almost apostate literature ( what happened duing the Great Apostacy of the 80's ).
That is why they will never be wrong. How many times do you see any business accept responsibilty for their mistakes? Almost never. costs money.
sorry about typos, no spell check
