They don't want to draw attention to 'suicide' by having a memorial talk for suicide victims. It's sad especially because a memorial is suppose to be for the survivors.

Everyone sees their parents as hypocrites when they grow up. In every culture parents are hypocrites. They are human and imperfect. Eventually you'll start to notice how much your like your mother and be horrified at first then you'll just accept it and laugh.
Ask your friends at college. If you experience other cultures beyond the JWs you may find your mother isn't as hypocritical as you thought.

This is true. I have difficulty when individuals blame everything wrong with their families and life on being JW. It makes their story less credible. Some have attributed family problems to JW'dom that would have been carried on in the family regardless of religion. Behaviors such as incest, alcoholism, and addiction are family secrets. That didn't start when the JWs knocked on their door. Being more specific as to how elders didn't help or covered up the wrong doing is a more credible way of relating a story.If you want JWs to listen.
