I hear they have a phone number you can call to "listen in" to the Sunday meeting. They will be able to know how many people are listening and they count those people in attendence. - maybe you can just go over your moms house and put it on speaker phone. that way you wont have to ASSociate with them.

"It's OK To Come Here, It's Not Unscriptural"
by minimus inangel eyes said this.
i agree that it's ok to come here and it's not unscriptural.. so, i'm confused.
why would the watchtower organization, the faithful & discreet slave and its representatives, say witnesses shouldn't come onto sites like these?

AE. Can you tell us why you post here? You can IM me if you think it would just blow up here.

Maybe AE needs us as much as we need her? I like how she's always here to give us a response that the normal JW (not that JW's are normal) would give. I always think of what the response would be if I were to talk of it to my family and looking to see what she would say, says it all.

Why do apostates never go back to the JW's?
by highdose inthis was a question i can remember asking as a child.
i never got a satisfatory answer ( you think that might have set alarum bells ringing but there you are) the answer i got was " apostates belive werid things... they are out to destory your faith!
" which didn't seem to make too much sense.

I remember a Elder saying one time that he can't leave because' he's just invested too many years into it, and there was no sense to him to leave even though he knew it was NOT the truth. I think mybe he told me because it was my parents that studied with him in the first place.

Do you ever feel bitter...
by Newborn in...that if you had never been a jw you could have been in a totally different, hopefully better, place than where you are now?
both when it comes to proffession and family etc.... sometimes i feel that i never explored any hobbies coz preaching was my hobby.
i know it's not too late for babies or new hobbies but still sometimes that makes me sad.. love.

I agree, in ways about still being bitter, but it is what it is. I have a son now (josh jr.) and I will raise him without the JW religion and see through him what my life could have been. I know its not the same and I don't want to live my life through his but it will give me a general idea of what could have been. He's two now and looking like things for him will be "Just fine"

When I was 17 my parents retired and moved to Florida, I stayed in Massachusetts where I grew up. I was struggling to stay on my own, make all the meetings, and work as much as I can to survive by myself. I made every meeting I could, and went out in service 8-10 hours a week. My truck I was driving blew the clutch but I just kept driving it, grinding the gears down the street to make it to the meetings. I tried so hard and the elders stripped me of my "privleges" for not getting enough hours in service. I was just barely paying my bills, but food was a luxery. My truck needed repairs, and I missed a couple meetings when I was repairing it in my driveway. I asked the Elders for a ride to the Kingdom Hall and they said, "You'll have to give me gas money". I said, "Are you kidding?" They just looked at me and said, "If you can't live on your own you should have moved with your parents." So yeah I can agree that I was ignored when I needed there help.
