cofty, that is awesome. We have various political leaders, aka Prime Ministers, from our country as well as the Queen of England.
VI, yes, I noticed that as well. Somewhat dishonourable as a Christian I would think.
here is an excellent article from the salt lake tribune on the issue of having "god" mixed with politics.
the author makes the point that gods are merely a reflection of people's egos who just happen to say whatever it is the believer wants to believe.. here are some excerpts: .

i hope this is okay with you simon, but since i've noticed the number of forum members looking to discuss or seek advice on various health issues i thought it would be a good idea to start a thread dedicated to this topic alone.
any discussions or advice on these matters could be put here where any and all would be welcome to jump in with any help they could offer.
i am working on the first questions at the moment taken from the cognac/morpheus weight loss thread.
I need a different job. I sit anywhere from 9 to 16 hours a day at a desk and I work from home.
I didn't used to. My last job had a physical component to it installing and uninstalling mainframe computers in the office. Now I perform an admin type job because they disbanded the team I was on and moved the workload elsewhere.
I have very little time to exercise. I love to walk and hike, garden, ride my bike, and ride horses but my job cuts into my personal time far too much these days. Oh, and 2 people left my team and another person from the department. Now it's just me on the team and I'm picking up even more work from the 3rd person who left. Sometimes I sit for hours without getting up and moving. Some days I don't get lunch. I gotta retire and get a better job.

Even the Donald is using the Christian label in his campaign, which is a total farce. He waved a Bible around at one of his rallies.
Is there any other country besides the U.S. that mentions god on its money?
and god is the same today as he was yesterday and will be the same tomorrow.. in other words he is unchangeable.. what a bloodthirsty god he was in the old testament., at his command killing old men young men women and children by the sword , a two edged sword i might add in some cases.cutting both ways.. put yourself in that situation for a minute , either as a victim or the executioner.
can you imagine piercing some other human with a two edged sword ?
especially if they were a child ?
rebelfighter said: did God design asbestos
If you believe in God and that he is the Grand Creator of all things, then the answer is yes. Asbestos is a naturally occurring element. It is toxic when inhaled. Other naturally occurring toxic elements include Plutonium, Uranium, Radium, Thorium just to name a few. There are many toxic animals, reptiles, plants, fish, insects, arachnids, etc on this Earth.
If you do not believe the Bible is the word of God then you are not a Christian. So which God do you believe in now?
a reader from south carolina has a heartbreaking story:" i am 31 years old.
i was raised in a strict bi-cultural (af-american and nigerian) jehovah’s witness family, one of six children.
though it’s generally looked down upon for jws to attend liberal arts universities (vocational schools are recommended), i somehow convinced my parents to allow me to go to university and major in theater (!!
In other faiths, they outright kill their unbelieving family. I'm not sure which is worse... torturing someone until they die or just ending it quickly for them.
time to take a break from debating religion.
take in a breath of fresh air and be healed by the wonders of nature around you.. how many of you have a garden?
how many have a nice flower patch to go with your vegetable garden?
Hi tal!
So last week Wed-Fri we had another big storm...snow and ice. A lot of major tree damage. That all melted but now we're heading into another cold snap with below freezing temps and snow. It snowed overnight and we have snow forecasted for at least the next 3 days.
But the bulbs are growing at my Dad's place despite these conditions.

60:22.. perhaps we live in an area where there are few witnesses or where we do not see a lot of immediate results in our preaching work.
Divergent said: On the other hand, if things are going well, they would say that Armageddon is near because peace & security would come before Armageddon! Either way they think they are right - problems = the end is near, when things are good = the end is near! It's almost impossible to reason with them!
And yet, Armageddon never arrives.
l;ve been giving this some serious consideration lately.l dont have all the answers no one does.we are all entitled to our opinions.l certainly dont believe in evolution as lve researched that subject extensively.lt's important to believe in something even if its for mental health.l believe everything happens for a reason.l also believe if we all live as close to the 10 commandments as possible this world would be a far better place to live and no one can argue with that.
Which god are you referring to? There are thousands.
Bronze and Iron Aged Middle Eastern desert dwellers' fantasies and mythology are no more true today than they were back then.

LostGen nailed it. I think the Conscious Class should be stating this exact thing to their JW families. It would be interesting to see how long the GB clung to this stupidity once many started pointing out the idiocity of it.
It was this kind of logic I used on my Dad when he said the bad economy during the 'Great Recession' we recently went through was the reason Armageddon was so close. If a bad economy is the reason Armageddon will come then shouldn't it have already arrived during the 'Great Depression' of the 1930s and not the recent 'Great Recession'? Crickets ensued... and I got the deer-in-the-headlights look from Dad.
But this kind of GB / JW crap logic prevails.
my dad was recently made an elder about maybe 6 months ago, and now he is never around he's always at work or doing some kind of jw crap.
now he conducts the watchtower study and is even doing the special talk tommorow.
he's become an even more strict controlling jerk than he was before, and i'm never allowed to go out and do anything non jw related because he doesn't have the time.
Hi Black Wolf...
Can you tell us which Colleges you want to go to?
Have you started on your vision board or mission statement yet?
I know you love to draw... keep doing this. Can you share some of your artwork with us?
My parents went through a period of being mean-spirited, holier-than-thou. It was not easy to live with. I just focused on the things that gave me joy, avoided them as much as I could, and kept revisiting and creating/building my life plan.
When I was a kid, it was fairly easy for me to get away as we had a 100 acre farm and I could go exploring in the woods, go for a ride on one of my horses, or hide out in the hay mow in the barn. As an adult (and yes, they weren't nice to their adult children sometimes too), I would remain calm during the rants, give my logical input and then 'get busy' in the ensuing weeks which meant I couldn't visit them as much { my job was actually really busy at times ... life does get busy when you're an adult and have to do all the things your parents did for you as a kid ;0) }
I just let my parents have their rants but I wouldn't react. This is the hardest thing to do, but you can do it. Just keep saying to yourself, "I have a life plan and I am going to be leaving to execute that plan." Look at these rants as being an example of what NOT to do. Sometimes the people in our lives give us good examples to follow, other times, they give bad examples. Your Dad's rants are obviously of the bad variety.
I also got a job as a teenager in town so I had some money saved up to go to school. I got a loan from the government to pay for my College education. I paid that loan back too once I got a job.
Your life is yours to architect as you wish. Continue to focus on this.
Maybe every time your Dad has a rant, add a positive picture to your vision board.
Keep posting here too... we are listening and care about you Wolfie.
