If Jehovah loves even round numbers, why did he create fractions (like blood fractions too ), irrational and odd numbers? Come to think of it, negative and prime numbers also seem a bit dodgy.

Jehovah loves "even rounded numbers" or could this be a way to disprove the inspiration of the Bible?
by notjustyet inwhile i am not able to recall them all at this time, i remember so many instances that when a number was quoted in the bible, especially large numbers, they were all "rounded up" to the nearest hundred or thousand.
for instance the angel killed 185,000 syrians, not 184,879. sampson killed a thousand men with the jawbone of an ass, not 961. and on and on on the even rounded numbers.
i would guess that it could be agues that these numbers were correct but is that realistic?

What's your passion???
by Faith after Deception inyesterday, i was feeling very blue.
this is quite unusual for me, as i tend to be quite an upbeat, positive person, so spells of sadness or depression take me by surprise and are a real shock to the system.
you know, i don’t believe in “putting on a face” or pretending to be ok; this “fake it ’til you make it” malarkey has never been something i’ve liked.

Sophia and Caleb videos helped wake me up
by Sevan inso the sophia and caleb videos on jw.org where the parents emotionally abuse their children (especially the sparlock/obey jehovah video and the pay attention at the meetings/death threat video) were real eye openers for me.
previous to these videos, i was able to delude myself that the crazy, unbalanced behavior i noticed in some witness parents was the result of their own mental issues.
now i realize this craziness is being pushed and encouraged from the tippy top, from the grand ole maleficent seven.

We omnivore homo sapiens can eat them as part of our salads, put them in sandwiches and wraps, or make pickles out of them. Yum! Slugs like them too. ;0) -

spiritual
by stan livedeath ini read the word "spiritual" sometimes on the site.
what exactly do the jw's mean by it ?.
-
Heaven
Spiritual to a JW means accepting the Governing Body's interpretation of the scriptures of the Christian Holy Bible and the Watchtower's doctrines that come from that and following the agenda of this organization without question.

Hey Darryl, many believers have issues with faith, I think largely because what is preached doesn't match reality. In our present day, we know a lot more about our natural world and the Universe than the Bronze and Iron Aged Middle Eastern desert dwellers did. Our knowledge has surpassed any need for superstition. Christianity is just an adaptation and modification of previous belief systems.
Using logic, reason, and critical thinking are key. Wishing something were true doesn't make it so.
Theodicy is a huge issue for many believers. It was for me.
Each of us have been taught someone else's interpretation of the Bible. We've been maneuvered through it, with our various religions cherry picking scriptures to convince us of the validity of their agenda.
Have you researched the history and origins of the Bible? This might help you.Ask yourself "What is more likely? That the laws of nature are suspended or you have been told something that isn't true."
As for 'belief', I think the fundamentals of love and helping others always works regardless of which deity you identify with (or don't identify with).

Do you think any animals will ever reach human intelligence?
by EndofMysteries inif all life was truly random, then what happened that allowed humans to it's current intelligent state, do you think non humans could and will reach that in the future?
.

Chimpanzees are estimated to have the intelligence of about a 13 year old human.
Corvids (species of bird including magpies, jays, crows, and ravens) are highly intelligent too. Checks this out (if you don't have time to watch the whole thing, just watch the first 2 and a half minutes):

Soooo... when they say 'animals' are they just talking mammals? Because there are many other species that eat meat such as birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish, bacteria, insects, arachnids, mollusks, fungi...
Could you imagine if nothing ate meat what this Earth would be like? Holy crap! We'd be overrun, competing for food big time, as well as suffocating in carcasses.
