  New Light on the New Light!!

  just discovered that the 'new light' regarding the the identity of the 'slave' is not so new.

  in the brochure "who are doing jehovah's will today?

  ", (brought out months before the annual meeting) it clearly states in the first paragraph in section 19 that "jesus would appoint the slave - during the time of the end!!

  The old doctrine was Jesus turns up in 1914, does an inspection and then appoints the FDS over all his belongings.

  New doctrine is Jesus turns up in 1914 appoints the Governing Body in 1919 as the FDS before they exist, and then at some point in the future appoints them over all his belongings.

  When Does Jesus Appoint the Slave “Over All His Belongings”?

  Jesus said that the “master on arriving” (literally, “having come”) will appoint the slave “over all his belongings.” When does the Master, Jesus, arrive?

  The expression translated “on arriving” is a form of the Greek word er′kho·mai. Verses 42 and 44 of chapter 24 translate a form of er′kho·mai as “coming.” In those verses, Jesus is referring to his coming as Judge during the great tribulation.—Matthew 24:30; 25:31, 32.

  Jesus’ appointment of the “slave” over his “belongings,” then, must also be a future event. He will make that appointment during the great tribulation.

  This provokes the question, if the GB are only appointed over all Jesus belongings at the Great Trib, then who are Jesus belongings today that the GB are not currently appointed over?

  Turns out it's the 'messianic kingdom' and the angels. So the current GB are appointed over the Angels at some point during the GT. The other annointed are also appointed over the angels when they are in heaven. So the FDS becomes all the 144k when they're all in heaven.

  i received this article from a friend:.

  watchtower changes concerning the anointed 144,000. there has been a major change concerning the 144,000 (the anointed) and for many years the anointed has played a major role in the teachings of the watchtower (wt).

  the 144,000 is the most crucial teaching to the witnesses; however, the teaching on this belief has changed over the past few years.

  Yes, I agree with the first post, it's an accurate record of WT doctrine changes re the 144K.

  I take issue with this statement " The real truth about the 144,000 is this, they are NOT chosen until the tribulation time." but that's because I don't believe in the Apocalypse/Armageddon/Great Trib/End Days scary schick some religions try to saddle us with.

  It's true now, since the Annual General Meeting this year, that the Governing Body has taken over all the previous responsibilities of the FDSlve class, but de facto nothing has changed since they had all the power to begin with.

  When it's your game, you make the rules. That's all the WT Corporation is doing.

  I very much doubt that America has more mental health issues proportionally than the rest of the western world, but in terms of lone gunmen going on rampages the USA does seem to have the 'perfect storm' conditions.

  Mental health issues + no universal healthcare = mental health issues untreated.

  Gun ownership rate at 90 guns per 100 people.

  Those two conditions alone will probably explain the massacres.

  St George - I imagine that the accounts servant will just pay the cash into a branch of a bank where the society's main account in France is held.

  I too would like to understand, if this happens, how the utilities bills will be paid.

  Also, if the local hall doesnt have an account anymore, I can see a lot of 'deed of covenants' (or their French equivalent) being cancelled & not re-instated for the large account.

  People simply will not double their contributions to the WWW. Everyone will view themselves as a poor congregation.

  if the death of jesus paid the ultimate price.....then why didn't it all end there and then and everyone got to heaven or walk into paradise with a panda?.

  So Armageddon / End times / Judgement day will never come?

  And as for the "scoffers walking after their own lusts", well they were right weren't they? All things are continuing like there is no God / Jesus

  Everyone who has ever lived, has died.

  I was taught, as a child that I would never die. Coming to terms with mortality is hard for normal people, but for people brainwashed since birth aka 'taught the holy writings' it's a real difficulty.

  Just as a thought experiement, imagine a world with no God. Not a world without people who believe in God, just simply a world with no God. How different would things be?

  I think things would be exactly the same...

  Jehovah's Witnesses dismayed by new magazine format from Watchtower Society.

  wow.

  i was surprised this week by calls from active jws complaining about the new magazine format, and more begging for money from the platform.. frankly i was surprized by this reaction since this is old news to jwn members.

  i guess actually shuffling to the bookroom and grabbing the new "awake tracts" minus the inside cover forward ...awakened many sleepy, catatonic, bored jws who never read the things or go on the internet anyway.. any feedback from other areas?.

  So for the public, in the past few years they've gone from four 32 page mags, to two 16 page mags.

  That's a huge reduction, from 128 pages per calendar month to 32!

  They do print the 32 page in-house watchtower, but the circulation for that must only be 8million, not the claimed 40 gaztrillion for the others.

  On the plus side, for the dubs, at least hopefully they won't have to read those stupid filler articles in AWAKE! aka "Was it designed: The Doohicky's Thingamabob"

  Old time JW's did some very devout JW's refuse to eat pizza with pepperroni because they believed "blood" was in the pepperroni?

  i have never heard this before until i read a life story of an ex-jws and how some jws in the past refused to eat pepperoni pizza because they thought blood was in pepperoni.

  i do know some elderly jw sisters would complain about eating steak if it bled while cooking.

  has anybody else heard of this pizza nonsense?.

  I also love remembering how as a child I was told the blood that comes out of meat as it's cooked isn't blood, it's just 'juices'.

  i hardly know what else to call it.

  i have felt many emotions in my life and anxiety, many times but this is different.. it's a sense of the impending, a build up of pressure like a wall of water behind a cracking dam.

  when does it break?.

  We are living at the end of an age, we're living in a time where the centre of power is transfering slowly from west to east.

  Not yet, & probably not for the next 50 years but eventually India & China will be the superpowers.

  How JWs will translate that into the king of the north/south paradigm is anyones guess!
