  i was reading a passage from "the book of jasher" in chapter 66 which i want to share with you:.

  What gives you away as a (former) JW?

  these days my jw past stay safely under wraps from nearly everyone.. i dont dig it up- and i see no need to talk about it with anyone.. sometimes i feel as if my past is a large and terrible secret, and i will be found out eventually.

  people can sense i am different.

  i never talk about my family.. i guess people chalk it up to being a private person or let me be a mystery.. however, there is one thing that i feel completely reveals me as having been raised a jehovahs witness:.

  I still can't bring myself to try black (blood) pudding (sausage).

  I find it hard to make new friends.

  I'm not sure what presents to buy people - what, for example, do you buy an aunt for xmas and birthdays? Do you even buy adults presents for birthdays?

  Am very good at answering Bible knowledge questions in quizes.

  when a female publisher conducts a regular ,scheduled bible study and a male kingdom publisher is present, she should wear a head covering.(1cor.

  11:3-10)the july 15, 2002 issue of the watchtower, page 27, explains: this is a pre arranged session of teaching where the one conducting the study actually presides.

  Good point rub-a-dub. In the congregation, the only time a sister would wear a headscarf would be if she was doing a job normally done by men, but when no appropriate men are present.

  Maybe they are moving towards a ruling that if a brother is present he should take the bible study, even if it's the sister's study?

  Ha, minimus, you can count it as a "study" if you stand there discussing a brochure for 15 mins, once a week for three weeks.

  I can't believe they're telling people to use the word 'because'. Do they think they've got legions of braid dead zombies going from door to door?

  Also, sisters now have to wear a headscarf if they do a doorstep bible study in a brother's precense.

  Big JW Changes in The Netherlands (Holland)

  news reached me a couple of days ago of some big changes in the netherlands for jehovah's witnesses.

  a letter from the branch office was read in all congregations so it can easily be verified by lurkers and faders who are still visiting the congregations.. big changes:.

  - they are going to sell one of the two assembly halls.

  It does seem like they're cashing out. Round here there's lots of talk of new kingdom halls, but in the past 10 years I haven't seen a new one built nearby. Lots of refurbs though.
