I remember trying to imagine infinity before (as in god with no beginning or end, and how that would be like in the New System) and it kept me awake some. My wife said the thought of never dying used to make her physically ill. We're the lucky ones, though, we get to die. :)

Does Genesis 19 condemn Homosexuality?

there are many "proof" texts that people (including jws) use to justify their rejection of anyone that is gay.

there are a few scriptures that you can pull up and try to make a case for show homosexuals why they are evil and wrong.. i've been researching more of these scriptures and i'm coming to some very different conclusions than many other christians hold, especially jws.

i wanted to talk about the first text used by many people to condemn homosexual behaviour.

Also for anyone who believes Lot's yarn about how his daughters raped him, I propose the following test. Start drinking whiskey until you get drunk enough to the point where you would not be able to tell that you are having sex with your child. I suspect you will have to be completely blacked out, otherwise you would know. Then try to have sex, or hell even get an erection. Report back with your findings.

several years ago, before my wife and i left, my 5 yr old daughter got up during the watchtower to cross the aisle to sit with someone else.

she tripped on the roving microphone wire and smashed her head on the foot of a metal chair.

the bleeding was profuse and an ambulance was called.

This is an destructive organization that hurts people, and took everything from me and so many other people.

Anything that hurts them is ok with me. :) It's only too bad you couldn't sue them for more, IMO.

first i am an ex pioneer of 2-3years ago and an ex elder of 9 months ago stepping down 12 months ago and stopped commenting for about 11 months.

prior to my enlightenment/awakening i was very active and an elder that spread the love to the congragation.. their has been very little shepparding by the elders witch im glad about, however 2 month goning on 3 i'v put 0 hours in service and reported 0. the memorial is comming up.

im expecting someone or sometwo to talk with me.

fading and need some support

first i am an ex pioneer of 2-3years ago and an ex elder of 9 months ago stepping down 12 months ago and stopped commenting for about 11 months.

prior to my enlightenment/awakening i was very active and an elder that spread the love to the congragation.. their has been very little shepparding by the elders witch im glad about, however 2 month goning on 3 i'v put 0 hours in service and reported 0. the memorial is comming up.

All good advice given so far. Tell them you're having a rough time, tell them you don't really feel like talking about it, tell them you appreciate their concern...."tickle their ears". We all know what they want to hear. And I'm sure you remember as an elder how much of your time is taken up with other things - if you can sufficiently satisfy their curiosity they will leave you alone for quite a while. They simply don't have the time to be THAT concerned about your "spiritual well-being".

Best of luck, I remember it is a nerve-wracking time. Mostly, they eventually just lose interest.

My other suggestion is to just ignore them. Don't answer the door, use caller ID. That's what it's there for. :)

you know my mother always would tell me, "wordly people aren't really happy.

" as a kid that always bugged me because i figured if people are laughing, smiling, and generally having a good time, they must be happy.

Not familiar with your story, but someday you'll be free.

There's almost nothing better than doing absolutely NOTHING all weekend. Or doing nothing Saturday and Sunday mornings because you went so hard the night before.

The dubs always would look down on people who were "working for the weekend" just so they could "make merry". As compared to the dubs who are working for the weekend just so they can do more work for a publishing cult and get absolutely no rest before going back to work on Monday. They really don't get it.
