this is a sincere request to any brothers or sisters who are fearful of websites such as this; .
please imitate the beroeans who carefully examined the scriptures to see if what the apostle paul said was the truth.
they were described as being "noble minded" for doing so!!.

And with that said... please do be cautious that like most of the web, there are charlatans and manipulators here claiming all sorts of outrageous things in the pursuit of their own "humble" glory and the need for their own personal following (you will likely be PM'ed with their off-site web forum shortly where you can follow them directly outside the moderation of this forum - much the way spammers try to get people off moderated sites quickly so they can discuss their various terms.)
Beware: A sucker is born every minute - and there are people here right now preying upon EX-JWs, unforutnately - pretending to be educators, they are actually seeking people to join their own off-shoot cults.
I will now pretend like others that I am humble. I will now "season my words with salt" in the hopes to convert you to my cult. Woe is me.. as a genuine humble person without a personal agenda I will go around reminding everyone how slave(class)-like and humble I am... in the hopes to gain a convert.

PS: I don't have my own religion, I don't want converts - please don't fall for it.
do you dislike anyone in the org enough to wish they never learn the truth?.
a couple of elders were so mean i hope they stay in!.
uun .
Wait, wishing they hadn't learned the truth...
How would that be disliking them?

i haven't been to a meeting (other than some cousins' weddings) for well over twenty years.
i've always wondered what the fds was going to do with the "generations" thing once pretty much everybody who had been alive in 1914 is gone.
i get that they've come up with some "new light" about this topic, but when i ask my mom (who's still in) i only get "well, the new understanding is complicated...".
Awesome. XD

does ce, ad, or anno domini add credence to the existence of jesus?.
.
discuss... .
Well, from what can quickly be learned from wikipedia - clearly this was something that was pushed by christians centuries after the supposed events of the bible.
So... not really evidence of anything other than there were Christians in the 500-800 era who wanted to promote their world view, I would say.

i've always had a real sweet tooth but when pioneering that was the first time i ever heard of anyone eating dessert after lunch in addition to dessert after dinner.. sometimes the few pioneers who cared about their weight would just have dessert for lunch, but i digress.. anyway, where i work we have a cafeteria and dessert comes with lunch.
it's not healthy!
i wish they didn't even offer it, because i have a hard time saying no.
You are spoiling my peppermint ice cream here....
EDIT: I do wish resturants didn't completely gouge you if you order a salad. It's like.. burger and fries, $4. Burger and a salad $6. :/ They price things to drive customers to the least healthy foods. (Granted potatoes are cheap and abundant and lettus is a green that doesn't freeze well and has a limited shelf life - it is still annoying to me.)

for those that dont know my story, basically i "woke up the ttatt" about a year ago, started fading, then went back, now fading again because i just cant stomach it anymore.
my husband is very supportive, although he's still "in" for now, and trying to be regular with meetings and witnessing, he can see my point of view now, and often notices things in the wt or other publications that are "off".
the fading thing is hard, sometimes i want to da, but because of the upheaval it would cause my family, im waiting a little while - i guess hoping that my husband will be on the same page at some point, so that we can support eachother.
Besides working out your beliefs, I wonder if it might help if you have some flesh-and-blood girlfriends?
I'd suggest starting with just one.

If there is anything I've learned from being a JW and being on JWN - it is to reach out to people you think you might connect with and form a deeper friendship than can be gained in a shared community. Don't leave your personal choices of friendships to be decided by a third party.
The stronger your ties with friends are - the stronger you are... and that will go beyond JW or JWN and is never wasted.

I hear a lot of the community - people I really liked to come here and read from have been banned in the last few weeks because of some sort of clash with hard-cored religious people who were spared.
Kind of sad, really.

It is ok not to have all the answers.
Dispite the claims - nobody has the answer to everything. There is, maturity, humility, and peace to simply recognizing that nobody really knows. That I don't know, that we as a species don't know - that there is still a lot of mystery and frontiers to explore out there.
Some participate in the Greatest Show On Earth - the expansion of human knowledge.
Some cling to proposed total understandings of the world spoken in the world's holy books from those with far less data than we have to consider today.
