  If Jesus was the" Greatest Teacher" the" Son of God" then why ?...........

  why did he not put pen to papyrus, all the wise sayings that are attributed to him by others.?.

  he is supposed to be the greater moses , at least moses is credited with writing the first five books of the bible , admittedlly some centuries later .

  jesus never wrote anything at all .. if jesus is the greater moses ,what writings has he done ?...zilch.

  Writing is a necessary evil.

  If THIS is what your Christ preaches - I am grateful to have nothing to do with his 'wise teachings'.

  Our ability to read and write - to collect and information and share that information with others is really one of few that really separates us from other animals. If not for writing, you wouldn't even know about your precious Christ. Many religions exist solely due to a 'holy book'.

  Like it or not - our ability to read and write is far greater and far more powerful than any god that ever existed. Without writing, no god - not even Jesus could exist for more than a few generations without significant and constant intentional and un-intentional change.

  For photographers - Canon shooters

  i'm a nature photographer and like most always seeking better, longer glass.. i'm most attracted to the 600mm f4 is canon lens though some have suggested dropping down to a 500mm due to the weight issue.

  both these lenses are heavy and i can't see myself lugging either one long distances without my modified baby stroller.. any experiences with either lens?

  what tripod head are you using?.

  SadElder: I haven't tried the 600mm f4 IS, I have the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L, and I like it. The IS version would add some versatility - but at nearly double the price, and the fact that I prefer using a tripod at high magnification anyway, I saved a bit of cash and went without the IS. I haven't tried anything above the 400 yet - and the 400 is heavy enough in my opinion. I do hear comments from some of my photography friends that while they have a 400mm+ lens, they usually end up choosing something lighter after the first few outings with it.

  My friend swears by his Canon 70-200mm f2.8L IS II - the apature combined with a full-frame sensor do result in some really nice shots.

  Another JW-specific critism...

  If Jesus was the "Great Teacher" then why does he need a "Listening to the Great Teacher" book to explain what he was trying to teach? If his message was clear and 'well taught', wouldn't just reading his words be enough?

  The lesson here being - If you're going to join a JW group on facebook to make a point...

  Be sure to use the name of a local congragation elder... that way, the owner of such a site is a slanderer, sewing decentions amoung his brothers.

  (Really though, a list like this is pretty useless - not only have the owners seem to have taken the bait with a lot of phoney joke names, but a lot of first/last name pairs are common. There are at least three people listed in the phonebook with my first and last name just in my small city... and none of them are me.)

  somehow the popes word now will be taken as proof the truth is right.

  "The Light Gets Brighter" even for Catholics it seems.

  Actually - it all makes sense now. The Catholics are going to make a bid to purchase the WT society. The WT is warming up JW's for the idea of follwing earthly direction from the GB without question - and the Cathoics are making some doctrinal changes to accomodate the merger.

  Our First Halloween

  (i grew up in the "truth".

  ) very risky, considering we are still active in the cong..... so we started at the first house and methodically walked up and down each driveway as worked along the street.. we were quickly over-taken by kids who were zig-zagging across lawns and doing houses in random order.

  suddenly, it dawned on me.

  My first Halloween this year too.

  I didn't buy any candy - like I'm made of money in this economy. :P

  So, I illuminated my kitchen with a red light, cracked open my kitchen window, put a pair of welding glasses on, and banged two cast iron pots together while staring dead ahead and slamming my biggest kichen kinfe against a wooden cutting board in sync with the cast iron pots. (My kitchen window faces the street.)

  Nobody rang my doorbell all night. I'll consider it a halloween success. :D

  I noticed two of my neighbors looking at me into my kitchen that night. Weirdos.

  a mother in north texas has been awarded a guinness world record for donating breast milk.. alicia richman, 28, from granbury, pumped over 86 gallons between june 2011 and march 2012 for donation to the mothers milk bank of north texas, a nonprofit that supplies neonatal intensive care units.. the vast quantity equates to 11,000oz - to put it into context, a typical newborn's feed is around 3oz.. she told cbs dfw: 'i pumped at work, on vacations, in the car.
