Why did he not put pen to papyrus, all the wise sayings that are attributed to him by others.?

He is supposed to be the greater Moses , at least Moses is credited with writing the first five books of the bible , admittedlly some centuries later . Jesus never wrote anything at all .

If Jesus is the greater Moses ,what writings has he done ?...zilch

Why are a great deal of his sayings not even recorded in the bible ? for our instruction ? Their is a scripture somewhere that says, words to the effect," if everything he said was written down it would fill volumes" .........So ?.... we have librarys full of books some of which contain volumes of words far exceeding the books of the bible .

Prophets, both major and minor, are considered lesser than Jesus Christ ,yet they have the priveledge /honour of penning their words for prosperity in the bible cannon ,yet Jesus Christ is not given that priviledge /honour.

All we have about Jesus , his life , his wise sayings etc. is from people who are either 2nd, 3rd, or4th witnesses to a supposed event

That's a very good question and I think that answer is that if he wrote anything down it would have been destroyed or warped. If Jesus would have concentrated on writing his ideas down they could have been easily replaced with the writing of another person or altered. How could people have verified the legitimacy of Jesus' written words in the ancient world? Their options were simply limited.

It makes sense that the Messiah would preach to about a million people leaving a lasting impression, rather than devote his life to the creation of Scripture that could be altered and falsified. The Torah and the Talmud already existed, there didn't need to be any more Scripture, it just needed to be properly interpreted which Christ did nicely.

Good points, Sab --- and I like the scripture that all his wisdom, teachings, sayings could never all be recorded --- not enough books to hold them.

If I give a speech, and it is not recorded, it is lost forever and open to the subjective interpetation of those that heard the speech. Many studies show that this is very unreliable, and we forget much of what we heard almost immediately. All that is put in is filtered through our own biases. If I write it down, there is still an interpretation issue, but what I wrote is preserved as a point of reference.

Moses wrote (supposedly). David wrote. Isaiah wrote. Daniel wrote. Why not Jesus?

Jesus thought that the Heavenly Father was going to fix everything in his lifetime. He had no need to write anything down.

True, just like the rest of the nt. Actually, sab, that's a copout excuse. God could have protected the words written by his son himself.

If jesus was the son of god, or god (per the trinity), he could have just written a book, THE book for his new religion. He didn't need the ot. He could have said to heck w the ot. Just starting anew would have eliminated all the haggling and confusion. Instaed, we have endless arguements among christians and jews, still not settled even after 2000 yrs. It's all built on a deck of cards, correction, 2 decks of cards.

Because the Spirit will lead us into all truth.

    Faith, not sight.

Because people don't even agree upon what IS written. People would still take what Christ said, and compare it with what others said, and there would still be all the same arguments. Because men would take the writings of Christ and use them to Lord over people, worse than some do even now. Because the written word can be twisted to mean anything people want it to mean, if they try hard enough.

People can lie about the Spirit too. But that is one reason we are not to follow men, but to go to Christ ourselves. But if people had an object... such as a book written by Christ, Himself... some men would possess that and turn it into a weapon to make people serve them, instead of the other way around. Some men would use such a thing to create an elite, and people would both kill and die for it.

But the bottom line, to me, is that we are meant to listen and hear in Spirit. To worship in spirit and truth. People would prefer to have something written, because listening in spirit is like using a muscle we haven't trained, and requires faith.. something many have a hard time with; whereas using our eyes is something we're all used to doing, and it requires no faith at all. Because it is something that is seen. Faith is in something that is unseen.

    Peace to you,
