does anyone know if the watchtower cd library comes in a mac compatible version?
or has anyone been able to crack it so it works on a mac.. i know i can run emulation software, but don't feel like giving any more money to microsoft for a copy of their operating system.
i have just bought a couple of mac laptops and find it so much better than windows 7 in almost every regard that i cannot understand why people still buy pc's.

i've lurking for months, and have enjoyed the various personalities on the board.
i'm pretty sure that i've seen this topic done on an old thread, but i don't want to get my buddy asilentone all riled up by performing a resurrection.
minimus- cause he is funny.
I would like to share a glass of wine with aguest and justmom.
first off, i just wanna say that i don't know how i feel about god, the bible, etc.
i'm in a major state of confusion, as i'm just newly out of the organization and coming to realize all the lies.
this has led to me questioning everything.. so the other day i was talking with a friend and had this interesting thought (i'll try to explain it as clear as possible without rambling or talking in circles and muddying up the concept lol).
Aguest,
Thank you for the answers --
Maybe I should clarify what I meant when I asked if death was eternal. You said:
If you mean "eternal" as in never/cannot dies/die, no. Because death IS hurled into the Lake of Fire and destroyed, and thus becomes "no more," right? If, however, you mean "eternal" as in "immortal" (which some people do mean)... such as all spirit beings are... then, yes. "Immortal" means does not die... and spirits, including Death, do not die. They CAN, however, be destroyed, which only happens by fire. Water can contain them... but not destroy them. If you mean "eternal" as in had no beginning, per se... that is my understanding.
I meant eternal as in having no beginning or origin. If I read you correctly it seemed to imply that Sovereign God did not create Death/Darkness - that Death/Darkness, an actual spirit entity not an abstract idea, always existed like God himself. If I understood that correctly I was wondering in what way then Death was subservient to God - if they were co-eternal. I am also wondering if there is a way to reconcile this concept with what is written by Isaiah the prophet where the Word of God recorded as saying - "I form the light, and create darkness; I make peace, and create evil; I am Jehovah, that doeth all these things." (Isaiah 45:7)
Also as a follow-up to my earlier inquiry about animal kind verses mankind in his original state. If I am reading correctly you are saying that the garden was not necessarily an earthly place but part of the spirit realm. How is it then that animal kind being of flesh and red blood can exist within it?
Also in regard to what you said about Christ - would it be correct to say that on earth Jesus was in the image of Adam and not in the image of God?
As always thank you for your replies.

A couple of questions based on what you have shared --
Is death/darkness eternal in the same manner that Almighty God is? If so how is death subservient to God?
Can you elaborate more on Adam/Eve enemies? Was their rebellion prior to the creation of man? What was the root of the rebellion?
Genesis indicates that man was created from the dust/earth how does this square with the thought they were spiritual beings that were originally not clothed in flesh? Were they originally something different from the rest of the "animal" creation around them?

so......... it started in 1998 when we were disfellowshipped (my husband and i) for the big a word.
apostacy!
going against our baptismal question agreement.. my husband already partook inside.

It takes courage to go there that's for sure. The Lord has sent me back twice and each time it nearly made me tremble with fear in flesh. (Once he even had me answer at the Watchtower study -- can you imagine.) Anyway I know of the fear in your flesh - but the courage in the Spirit. I'm glad that loved triumphed. May you be blessed.

how many disfellowshipped ones on this board have actually had follow up elder visits "encouraging" them to return to the meetings?.
i have been df'ed for 15 years now, and i have never had one visit (i am not saying that is a bad thing!
) from an elder encouraging me to return to the organization.
Nothing just yet - four years.
per a "top secret, confidential, burn this after you read it" letter to all boes, dated march 2, 2010, but not read in our congregation until this past week:.
new "kingdom ministry" school for all elders and ministerial servants, to be held (in the us anyway) between november 2010 and january 2011.. 6 hours of jaw dropping tedium instruction for ms, 9 for elders.
ms session to be held on a sunday, elders on friday and saturday.. the "super secret surprise", for elders only: a new textbook will be released to be studied at this "school".
I expect this book will be contain less directives from the Society to limit legal liability. Will probably be published by "Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses." Yes - extra, extra wide margins for writing down all of the rules.
dear friend,.
imagine that you personally have been invited by a great man to come to his dinner party.
he tells you, come and enjoy the good things i will give you to eat and drink.

Good to meet you. I first contacted Shelby last week. What a beautiful person she is.

dear friend,.
imagine that you personally have been invited by a great man to come to his dinner party.

Dear Friend,
Imagine that you personally have been invited by a great man to come to his dinner party. He tells you, “come and enjoy the good things I will give you to eat and drink.” You are very excited because this man is said to have the most exquisite food in the entire world.
On the night of the dinner you take your seat at his table. The food is brought out and it smells absolutely delicious. Yet when it is passed to you, your fellow guests at the table say that this food and drink is not for you. They say that you have only been invited to observe other people eating and drinking. You are confused because you know that you have personally been invited by the man himself to eat and drink at his table.
My dear brothers and sisters, the man who has prepared the feast is Jesus and he has extended a personal invitation to each and every one of us this year to eat and drink at his table. The number of those hearing and accepting this invitation to partake is growing every year now — even at a faster rate than those coming into the Organization in general. It is an amazing thing to witness!
Just as you have went door-to-door over the previous month extending an invitation for people to come to his table and observe I am entrusted now as his servant to extend a personal invitation to you to eat and drink. I am to share his personal words to you:
“Most truly I say to YOU, Unless YOU eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, YOU have no life in yourselves. He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, and I shall resurrect him at the last day; for my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood remains in union with me, and I in union with him.” — John 6:53–56
If you are seeking everlasting life, you must do what he instructs. It is not up to us to find our own way; because he is the only Way. Out of his great love he has prepared a way, offering his body and blood on our behalf. (Luke 22:19, 20) Yes there may be others that will tell you that his food and drink is not for you and may even try to discourage you, but if we really want to honor Jesus and the sacrifice he has made for us on this special occasion then we should accept the food and drink he is offering us. As his servant I encourage you to listen to him because he is Faithful and True.
It is my hope to be there again with you soon. In my absence, I want to reaffirm my continued love for you. Above all else remember that our Father in Heaven and the one that he sent forth Jesus love you dearly. I pray that their blessings fill your life in every way.
Yours in Him,
Anthony
since spring weather is upon us - thought those of us that enjoy live music may have fun with this one !.
my favorite live musicians i have seen are follows :.
and which show or group was your favorite ?
Swell Season - This show was epic from open to close. The music was good but the spirit was uplifting. It resonated with forgiveness, faith, and love.
Belle & Sebastian - Absolute fun! L-O-V-E love it's coming back.
Throwing Muses/Kristin Hersh - Too many to name. My favorite Kristin Hersh performance was in a former presbtyrian church during a lightning storm. The City Tornado alarms went off during one of the songs and actually backed up the music perfectly. She also dedicated a song to our infant daughter.
OctoberRidge, Daytrip & Pop Riveter - That show was a turning point in my life when it came to discovering love.
