what is unique is that an experience a nonwitness husband had many years ago. Witnesses were not allowed into Military housing, and yet there we no gates or entry points into the housing. The husband trying to help his wife (why why why)went to the base police inquiring why they weren't allowed, got the answer that the military housing authority wouldn't allow it, butttttt if you can get them to okay it and let us know we will be good with it. Well the husband spent many a time cajoling the housing authorty (bitch by the way) until finally she relented. He took a letter from them to give to the MPs and asked them to also call the officer in charge and let him know it will be alright for the dubs to go d-t-d there. Well eventually they were allowed. Now the unique part sitting at a CA with his wife the husband hears a brother up there (elder by the way) who takes credit for the whole thing. Stood up there an lied his ass off about it. My wife was incredulous, unfortunatelfy she was also self deluded about what she should do so she just kept quiet. The PO of the cong. finally came to the husband and apoligized saying it wouldn't have looked good for a nonwitness to go up there and relay that experience so elder smelder was chosen to do it. What a lying bunch of scum bags those people were, and it's unfortunate that most of the experiences are pure Bs or given to someone else to give.

What percentage of assmbly experiences are total fabrication?
by NoRegrets inwhen i was in 4th grade, i ended up in a situation involving minor school politics.
they had developed a "student council" which did little more than sell pencils at lunch time for fundraisers.
anyway, i was appointed by the teacher and didn't think much of it as an 8-9 year old.

Knocking on Doors vs. Televangelism
by Band on the Run ini was watching a tv show that made me think about why the witnesses insist on door-to-door work "in this age of mass communication," to quote jesus christ superstar.
did they not have a radio station at one time?
i remember hearing about it and about the dj becoming too popular so he was axed.

The question remains that if all the mags not used in the d-t-d BS aren't used, who is it paying for them, I don't believe for even a second that the bitchtower lets them go for nothing. Sooooooo who pays for them. The congregation is what i believe.
Remember the PTL Ministeries? Jim and Tammy Faye?, well that is what the Bitchtower is to the congregations PTL (pass the loot) publishing company.

The door-to-door ministry, keeps the dubs busy, they always say see at Matt. 28: 19,20 blah blah blah but they never read it in context. Jesus was telling this to the 11 apostles, not every tom dick, harriet etc. that were his followers. That is why they had special powers ala Benny Hinn (yeah right) Their inflated opinion of themselves is nauseating at best.
The WTBTS use this to make $$$, you donate for the "free" magazines, and by god if you get a donation for them, they want that too. Like most things in business and politics it's follow the money. Most in the door to door work, don't realize they are being used period. It's a publishing company and if you aren't out in the "field ministry" and having to do so, then you won't be using as many mags as needed to keep the pub company in business. The more door to door workers donating for magazines makes money for the WTBTS publishing corp. It has always been a money maker for them, and thus they will never end it for a more logical way to get the word out.
The first century christians used the only means they had at their disposal for getting the word out, Radio, Tv, the internet etc didn't exist. What were they suppose to do paint scriptures on Camels asses as they crossed the desert in Caravans. Paint on animals sides and asses to get the word out. Would have been a lot of pissed off shephers, caravaners, farmers etc. if their animals had been painted. And lets not forget that most people of the word at that time just like the apostles with the exception of Paul were illiterate unable to either write or read, and that is directly contrary to the the pics put out by the society showing them carrying around paprus scrolls like they were supposedly reading the bible.
follow the money folks, that's why the d=t=d exists.

An Old Argument.... does it hold water?
by AK - Jeff inestimates range from 4 million to 15 million children die from starvation each year on this planet.
that's between 500 and 1700 children a day, depending on what numbers you accept.
still, no matter which numbers you use, doesn't this make you arrive at one of the following conclusions?.

trust God just which one are you talking about, many countries have different Gods and asking them to ignore them and honor just your god borders on the ridiculous. Starvation is terrible, but people are saying we can fix it, well that is just BS, we can't, you would have to get all peoples world wide to participate and that just isn't going to happen.
How in the heck can one even get the political entities of the world to cooperate? It just won't happen, i try and do my part in helping those in need and have been supporting 7 different familes for over 30 years. It began as the Parents, then the kids, and now am supporting grandkids. Believe me they are very appreciative, If it wasn't for my help who knows what would have happened to them? so if one is concerned about peoples situational starvation well step up to the plate and start helping out individual familes, it won't cure starvation, but it will help some eat and live better.

Definition of "Negativity" according to JWs
by LongHairGal ini recently had a falling-out with a jw which i won't go into because it is nonsense really.
in one of the pathetic retorts i was told i was "negative".
this wasn't the first time i heard this from a jw over the years.. what i have noticed is that it is because i spoke about real life situations in the world and/or problems and wrong things in the religion.

One way to get them to view you in a negative light is to start talking about shooting, and the guns and bows you may have and how much fun it is to go plinking. You can actually feel the negative feelings they start to have for you, and then some idiot will bring up that we aren't suppose to have such things because they are violent.
Many in some congregations think hunting is tatamount to murder, yet they go out and eat steak, porkchops, etc but can't stand the fact that you go out and hunt your own meat.
I use to love inviting some to come and go plinking or target shooting with me and you would be amazed at the look on their faces, it would be like you suddenly turned into a werewolf or something, funny to say the least. And yet they all want the big Trib and armageddon to come and kill off most of the people on the earth. Talk about hyprocites.

Gossip was one thing that got my wife in a depressed mode, she couldn't believe how some were talked about when they weren't part of the car group. She told me the gossip would flow, that is one of the reasons she was so depressed.
In one congregation I had attended it surely was the elder's wives that were paramount in spreading gossip and information about others that should have only been between the elder and whom ever he was talking with. It wouldn't be in no time that all the dirty little details would be spread around the congregation. Love among themselves had to only mean love for gossip and dirty little secrets to talk about others.

Witness plays Gov. Body Samuel Herd talk for me.....is he mentally ill??
by Witness 007 ingoverning body member samuel heard talk -are you ready for the finishing line?.

seem the delusional talk by this person goes to show just how out of touch with reality they really are. And Yes it seems that there is always a lot of talk about love in the congregation and me wonders just how many in congregations have secret hopes that others they don't like will be killed in the great trib?
They are all just a bunch of whack jobs.

Marry Only in the Lord
by compound complex inmisgivings, to be sure, .

with real intent, a burning zeal.

Paul had just possibly tried to get widows to marry in the Lord, so as to not marry people of "pagan" religions, there were Jewish women who may have still be Jews in their belief structure for worshiping God, and of course there were Christian women. So to me it has always been just advice to marry in the Lord, afterall Paul didn't really specify just which Lord he was talking about. Yahweh or Jesus.
