When my family left a congregation we had been attending for over four years, no going away party yet when a study and his family were moving they had a party/get together for them. Talk about a slap in the face, it went with the fact that two people I had studied with never even invited me or my family to their house. Yet every time a congregational family moved to another residence I was always invited to help them move. We were always asked to cook some of our particular speciality foods and bring them. Was so glad to leave there. Have had some of them from that cong trying to befriend me on FB. They obviously don't know I faded almost 4 years ago.

Elders coming to give encouragement to the physical sick is bs, my wife was bad sick for over a year w/o ever coming to encourage her, never visited her, she seemingly ceased to exist in their eyes. No DTD so she no longer counted. -

Story of a GB ass-kisser
by zound ini was reading a life story article in the latest watchtower and had a few thoughts about it i thought i'd share here.
these life story things are always so depressing to me - this one is slightly interesting because it is told by a current "governing body helper".. it's called "full time ministry - where it has led me.
" reading it i just got the impression that this guy (robert) was aiming to be a gb member but fell short and ended up being a gb "helper".

Resolutions to send money to society

With the CO's getting donations etc., how does all this figure in with Obamacare? Do the CO'S get subsidized for that or? The society is nothing more than a money grabbing organization and the congregations are being duped. -

Try to regain my health, have spinal infection and go to hospital daily for infusion of medication. Four more weeks to go, have already done four weeks, it has to be done 7 days a week for 8 weeks altogether,. Then will have an MRI to see if any infection remains. If get the all clear, will fly to the Philippines to be with wife and son. -

They came, they saw, they left...
by NVR2L8 induring the holiday period one if my wife's brothers had planned a vacation in our area.
they drove about 6 hours to a condo they leased for a week to celebrate their wedding anniversary with their married son and daughter.
they called my wife to let her know they were coming to visit us since they were 2 hours away.

When convalescing after knee op years ago, I wouldn't let kids answer door if witnesses came by, knew they didn't care about me they were just going to use visit to count time as they were all dressed up and obviously had been out annoying people.

Human kindness
by stillin ini hold kindness in high regard; it separates us from the drudgery of life and elevates those who practice it as well as those who receive it.
my family has been going through a big crisis for several weeks now and i've noticed a few things.
several of the elders have expressed their concern for us, shared a scripture and then back out to field service or whatever.

There is nothing like tough times to show just who is and isn't your real friends, when my wife passed away several years ago, my daughter I and were the invisible family of two, no one came by after the funeral, no one sent a card, no one ever stopped by to see how we were doing, It was an eye opener for my daugther and thank goodness she seen the light of false love from the congregation. I have never nor will I ever step foot in a Kingdom Hall again, we were there to help others when adversity hit, but like I say when adversity hit us we must have been invisible. Now they are invisible to me, not to say that If I seen somone on the road from that congreagation needing help with a flat tire or some such that I wouldn't lend a hand, I am not like them and thankfully my daughter will never be one of them. Yeah the conditional aspect of witnesses come out pretty fast you realize that it was all a scam and a great pile of horse manure. My eyes had been opened for over 10 years prior to this happening and I just attended to keep my wife company, when she was on the way down she realized just how much horse pucky it really was and that depressed her to no end. Something I had been telling her all along. well this rant is over.

What I Miss
by FreeGirl2006 intoday i had to drive by several homes of dubs i knew most of my life and it kicked off a longing i have for my siblings and the faux-friends i grew up with.
not necessarily the people in and of themselves, but people who knew me way back when.
being raised in the borg the only "friends" i had were indoctrinated.

For myself I had realized years ago these were only conditional friends, that when it counted they wouldn't be there for me now I just don't care about any of them and have absolutely no desire to even converse with them. When my wife passed away, (I was only going to please her) that cut any and all contact with these make believe friends. Have no desire to even see some of them at all.
