Discussing the RC with a friend and my JW wife was listening.
by Driving Force ini am fuming at the moment and my wife has made me so angry.. i live in germany and an ex jw, a friend of mine is also ex jw but does not understand english so i was giving him a rundown on the friday session of the rc with gj.
my wife was in another part of the house but heard my phone ring and so she came to listen, i did not realize this, because when the phone rang i closed two doors between myself and my wife.
she opened the first door and started listening to the conversation.

When did things turn from paganism to religious?
by ssn587 inheard someone mention that certain acts are pagan.
so thinking about it, i surmised that marriage, sex, eating certain things were okay and then after g-d gave the law to moses (supposedly) there was a separation for things, actions etc., that were pagan and otherwise bad.
just wondering what others may think about this.

I made no assumptions other than its anything religious in nature the was accepted as the norm prior to the Jews being given the "law." Got so tired of hearing oh you can't do that it's pagan because it's prior to Moses and the law, so I said well in that regard wedding rings are pagan, eating drinking etc. Was messing with a dub when this occupied. Thanks for you inputs. -

You never know what will wake someone up, my wife unfortunately didn't wake up until just a month or so before her death. She finally realized that her so called friends disappeared since her depression, no phone calls, no stopping by to visit nada. She turned to me one morning and said they really don't care do they? I told her yes they really don't care, elders never stopped by or even asked her or me if they could be some help. She was depressed and me and daughter were left to it. So unfortunately in our case the awakening came to late. It definitely opened up my daughters eyes to see all the uncaring. After she passed we never had an elder ms pioneer or anyone come by, so we exited left and haven't been in a hall since just over a month after she passed. The wakeup alarm is different for all some will ignore it and others will turn it off and go back to sleep unfortunately.

Advice Needed - JW Grandparents
by What Now? inmy family has been out (inactive no meeting attendance or field service) for just over two years..
weve made many changes in our lives, including with our personal appearances (tattoos, piercings etc) that are a pretty obvious sign that we arent going back any time soon.
our families went through a period of time about a year ago when they made a lot of threats that if we left the truth, they wouldnt even be able to share a meal with us, they would stay loyal to jehovah etc.

If You can't trust a family member to honor your requests to not speak about or tell your children their beliefs so be done with them, if they can't follow what you tell them, then they aren't to be trusted. Parents, siblings, grand parents basically indoctrinating your children shouldn't be put up with, it shows a high disrespect for your wishes. So don't let your children be around them end of discussion. -

"Deep Down , He Knows That It is The Truth"
by BluesBrother inthis phrase i heard again at the weekend when a diehard dub was discussing his non believing, but much loved son.
"it is just that..... [insert any excuse here].
it is something that they all say about us, yet nothing could be further from the truth.

What Ding said exactly, truth doesn't change the sun will come up in the East just like every other day, for witnesses and new light guess the sun will come up in the northeast or some such. Didn't say that well. -

October 15th Watchtower - Now We Know Who's Responsible!
by The Searcher inthe self-promotion of glorious ones at hq continues apace, as all of the g.b.
helpers have their names elevated worldwide!
(in reality, named & shamed).

Searcher, that example like many others is a fabrication. I have lived here in the Philippines for many years off and on, and I have "never" had any witnesses drop by in the d-t-d work. You can't get them to talk when they are on break from a convention. Mum is the word evidently. In fact, have never seen any of them out in service. Their ministry is evidently like their God, invisible. -

New Thoughts about the "three-fold cord" that is not easily broken and what it means....
by Muddy Waters ingot to thinking about this the other day.... you know how the wts uses a scripture from ecclesiastes (ecc.4:12) to say how important it is to have jehovah in your marriage -- that a two-fold cord is easily broken or pulled apart, but a "three-fold cord is not easily broken".
they then go on to define exactly who and what jehovah is and what exactly this love & marital arrangement means and how you properly show and demonstrate it, and blah blah blah and all the things jehovah (through his organization) says are so necessary and important for a happy marriage (from their special bias and agenda, the preaching work!
- and meeting attendance & preparation, and studying the bible together and the husband taking the lead, and all that jw filler which they define and obligate for others to do -- they define every term and behavior and expectation to the nth degree.. then it occurred to me, that the scriptures simply and always say, "god is love.

If you had any doubts about the pitifully poor mental prowess of Watchtower and JWs in general ...
by Island Man inif you had any doubts about the pitifully poor mental prowess of watchtower and jws in general then i'm sure this week's watchtower study (week of june 15-21, 2015) completely obliterated such doubts.
the study article (watchtower april 15, 2015, page 19: how real is your relationship with jehovah?
) was filled with blatantly fallacious reasoning that were outdone only by the more fallacious reasoning on the part of commenting jws.. the article, in paragraph 2, says this about a relationship with jehovah:.

My feelings for many years as a dub was why pray no one is listening, hated it when asked to pray, I probably said the shortest prayers. And intentionally avoided situations where I might be called on to pray. A useless endeavor unless of course you enjoyed hearing your on voice.
