Sit with a watch tower under them and keeping silent, but keeping track of their time kind of like cart witnessing only talking to themselves and keeping time maybe?

Religion...is regarded by the rulers as useful
by flipper inlucius annaeus seneca, roman statesman, 4bc - 65ad: "religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.".
this comes to mind as trump has been throwing the word "god" around.
there are a lot of outwardly religious people in this government.. benjamin franklin: "the way to see faith is to shut the eye of reason.".

Intelligence is the victim of faith.

What's preventing YOU from stopping meeting attendance?
by nicolaou inwe all 'exit' in our own way and at our own pace but i'm curious, why carry on stuffing yourself into that stiff suit and tie or meeting dress years after you realised the truth about 'the truth'?.
they kept you a prisoner, what's stopping you from leaving now that you have the key to your own cell?.
loved ones?

Now I'm Convinced There Probably Is No God
by pale.emperor inyesterday i made a visit to the museum in my city.
the top floor is the planetarium, which has a connecting room with a huge dome ceiling where they project lessons and lectures and you have a 360 view of the night sky etc.. this particular lecture explained about our galaxy, and how it's only one of billions in the universe.
and then we learned about each planet, some of their moons and the sun.

Really the question is did God make mankind or did mankind make God?

How to reply when someone asks about your spiritual health
by RodrigoGuerreiro infirst of all, sorry if i cannot correctly express the original expression used in my native language to ask for the "spiritual condition".. a few years ago some member of the family asks my wife directly how is her "spiritual health" (for me it's one of the many strange vocabulary used by jw like "the slave says...").
she was catched by surprise with the direct question and says that everything is ok... and luckily someone call them for lunch.. my question is: do you have any good answers for that question?
you can be ironic/use some humor because the question is a little bit anecdotical .

I was asked that once and told the ass that when at the gun range it's great even better than being out in service or at meetings, he got that deer in the headlights look and just walked away, another nosy witness overheard and just stood there for a few seconds then asked you have guns, then I told him well duh you think i me throwing literature at the targets, he shut up and walked away mumbling to himself. Never heard about it from the elder Gestapo.

Delusional, you must also believe in talking snakes and donkeys, you are convinced that the absence of empirical evidence is evidence of a man made savior. Like I said, delusional.

Question for those that have been Disfellowshiped for apostasy VS succesfully fading
by NikL inthere are quite a few here who have been disfellowshipped for apostasy.. then there are those that have successfully faded.. why the different outcome?
are the ones that got df more out spoken?
or does the discrepancy lie with the elders?.

I have no idea of what status I'm in with the local congregation. Haven't been to a meeting since 2011, do see some from that congregation time to time, some smile, others ignore and a few want to shake my hand and ask how I'm doing. I just ignore them, met one elder at McDonald once we grabbed a bit and I asked him if you can be appointed an elder while being an active pedophile and he responded yes. I then told him that's why I don't attend at least one of the reason, and that I wanted nothing to do with a group that would accept a pedophile in any capacity. Am just glad to being able to get on with my own business and could care less about any of them.

I have no doubt the enabling elders in our Temecula congregation knew he was a ped when he got there.
