Weather lover, your family is hurting you, by your not being yourself because of them and how they will react. IOW, you are self censoring yourself because of them, and is no more than tyranny. Don't put up with it, you have a right to be yourself, not some watch tower puppet.

i started to realize it wasn't the truth over 2 years ago in late october/early november 2014. i don't know how exactly it happened.
i remember i had just heard about confirmation bias, and it hit me: i realized that i would be guilty of confirmation bias if i didn't look at the other side.

What have been some of the funniest local needs talks that you have heard?
by DaPriest ini remember once in berlin south germany there was a local needs part for the men only, and how they should use the toilet.
in all seriousness for ten minutes a retarded nigerian was going on about how men need to sit down when using the toilet.
no mention of anything else.. it transpired that some little kraut boy from an "interested" family would aim for the side of the toilet and leave a great big puddle for others to clean up.

We had an assist elder give a talk about it onwning guns, he tried to use me as an example as I was MS at the time, and asked brother ssn587 you don't have any guns in the housedo you? I smiled and said only 21 between pistols, recovers, shot guns and rifles, he was stunned couldn't speak for almost a minute then just walked off the stage, it was all I could do not to laugh out loud.

Why do you get upset about family shunning you?
by mr_doubtful ini understand people love their family but i also don't understand why you end up caring in the end.
i'm ready to leave and i 100% don't expecting my family to have any contact with me nor do i want them to contact me.
if they are going to chose a man made religion over me, that's their choice and i will sleep easy at night.

by karter ini was on a job last week and the p.o from my old congro was there and told me they had just re modled the k.h.the r.b.c quoted them $240.000 they did it for $120.000 so why the big diffrence in price??

THE AGEING OF STILL-ACTIVE WITNESSES
by steve2 inseveral years ago i started a thread on this forum in which i asserted i had not seen witnesses door-knocking in my village for at least two or so years.
years before that - in pre-trolley times - in going about my business (or pleasure), i'd catch sight of them on the streets as they shuffled in their groups from door-to-door: sometimes there'd be contingents of witnesses, including young couples, parents and their kids and middle-aged and older ones.
in other words, a good cross-section of ages and stages in life.. in fact, i can remember times when witnesses were so visible in numbers when going out in their car groups, you literally couldn't escape them.. then, in more recent years, i've seen very, very little...if not anything (and i count myself sensitive to noting whether jws are out and about).

Since 2011, only seen them once in my area. Where I live mostly here in the Philippines they haven't seen them in this Barangay for 10 years or more, and here by the river, same barangay, never. My neighbor's in the states say they never have seen them but once since 2011 too. They are scarcer than a truth telling politician.

this comes to mind as trump has been throwing the word "god" around.
there are a lot of outwardly religious people in this government.. benjamin franklin: "the way to see faith is to shut the eye of reason.".

What's preventing YOU from stopping meeting attendance?
by nicolaou inwe all 'exit' in our own way and at our own pace but i'm curious, why carry on stuffing yourself into that stiff suit and tie or meeting dress years after you realised the truth about 'the truth'?.
they kept you a prisoner, what's stopping you from leaving now that you have the key to your own cell?.

Now I'm Convinced There Probably Is No God
by pale.emperor inyesterday i made a visit to the museum in my city.
the top floor is the planetarium, which has a connecting room with a huge dome ceiling where they project lessons and lectures and you have a 360 view of the night sky etc.. this particular lecture explained about our galaxy, and how it's only one of billions in the universe.
and then we learned about each planet, some of their moons and the sun.
