i was born and raised jw at about the age of sixteen i started to have doubts about my mothers chosen religion (dad is not jw) so started to do some research and decided it wasnt for me.
my mothers still at me about going back though.
my friend and I have a similar life situation, but the difference is i was DFd and she came back to have her family, - she doesnt attend meetings but she got reinstated, and her family give her so much pressure its unbelievable. I miss my family but I have to say the incessant badgering would drive me insane. - in a way Im best that they cant discuss their truths with me. its also sad because I love my mum and I wish she would wake up. x

ok, i'm sure i am not the first one to be in this predicament but it sure is a headache, my jw ex called a few days ago, apparently she has met someone (they're not dating of course!
) and she wants to me to hand over the golden ticket.
she wants confirmation either in writing or verbally to a third party, that she is "scripturally free" to remarry.. i have managed for years now to avoid any judicial action and my jw family members still associate with me, but that all could come to a screeching halt if i give her what she wants.. the only bright side is she totally robbed me on the divorce; if she gets married i am at least off the hook for "spousal maintenance", that would mean potentially thousands of dollars in my pocket.... .
it depends how much you like your ex. - why should you conform to their religion. I wouldnt put anything on paper to my ex saying I had 'slept with someone else' thats only admissable in a divorce.
Id say its not your rules and not your problem.
i find it totally hypocritical that family members will mix with someone who lives what they deem a worldly lifestyle so long as they arent disfellowshipped but if thay are like me, you can live like a nun and they still wont mix with you.
my sister is leaving /left now and she says she doesnt want to get dfd so she can still have a relationship with our mum. that means she can go screw around and still speak to the family, while i stay at home single, working on my career and taking care of my two sons. - wheres the moral principle in that? (though I am happy my sister is seeing sense)

i will totally leave names out, as many get all huffy about that.
it's also possible that i am wrong, though i doubt it.. it's just that some trolls seem to deliberately be terrible spellers to make themselves look more naive and when they leave here for whatever reason, some new bad speller comes along in less than a week with an impossible problem or a complicated love situation with a jw or they are a firm believer with questions.

I didnt watch the Davinci COde till I left.. .Now Ive watched it obviously this is the reason I dont go back it has brainwashed me, along with me getting a higher education like I wasnt supposed to. - clearly that took me away from the truth.. we should have just done as we were told.... hmmmm
