What Is Your Biggest Regret Because You Were a Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus ingrowing up as a witness makes it nearly impossible to deal with the "world", as a child.
constant pressure is put on witness kids to conform.

Looking for advice
by PenSue ini am not a jw but i am a business manager and one of my employees is.
i want to be able to understand her better and be able to respect her choices but i struggle with certain issues such as sending holiday cards to company clients.
she won't do so because of her beliefs and the clients cannot be neglected so this of course creates added work to those who are already very busy.. i am unsure of when to separate religion from business and am confused about why it's ok for her to take the vacation days designated for christmas, yet she can't cater to the needs of the business.. i do not ask things of her that fall outside the scope of her position and because of the lengths we go through to provide concierge service for our clients, i find that her religion is an out for her participation.

The only way to compensate is to make her do some of the other employees work while they take time out to write out the cards etc.
excellent idea! this way no one feels resentlful. and maybe send out cards saying "seasons greetings" or "happy holidays" instead of cards with an overly religious theme. i personally would rather get a card like that than a religious one, since i don't go to church or anything...

The elders wanted to study with my son.....
by Dawn in...so i just found out.
apparently, the last time my son went to the kh with his grandma (which was quite some time ago), a couple different brothers asked him to study and he turned them down.
not suprising - but what did suprise me is that my mom said the brothers then went to her to talk with her about it.

Not sure how they re-activate someone who was in for 50 years, served in every position and knows the Bible and WTB&TS theology inside out.
they wouldn't. you know way too much...they want minds they can mold...

I think I wanna go to the kingdom hall this sunday...
by Sweetp0985 inyes you read that correctly, but first let me say that i'm not going to learn anything (as if that would happen anyway), but i'm going to gloat.. the last couple of times i went there a few months ago was because i was being forcedstrongly encouraged (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/9/74780/1202255/post.ashx#1202255) and i felt intimidated when i went.
now that i have become a regular reader of various discussions here, i know i can walk in there with my head held high and look at them with just as much disgust in my eyes as they have in theirs because i haven't been begging to come back to such a unloving and hateful organization.. i also want to take a good look at my step-mother.
i know for a fact that things on the homefront have been much less than a "loving theocratic atmosphere" between her and my father.

well, even if they do, it won't make me rent there again. i've never even had a late library book, and one day i got this thing in the mail from them, informing me that they were TAKING EIGHT DOLLARS FROM MY CREIDT CARD TO COVER LATE FEES. apparently when i signed up that was in the fine print. i swear that fine print size was negative six. anyway, i called the store and complained about them not scanning in my returns, which fell on deaf ears. so i told him to close my !@#%# account and he was like whatever...so blase'... errrr
anyway i think late fees are a scam. i always ask for receipts when i return videos now.

i mused on this one a long time before answering. at first i thought i had no regrets, 'cause i had no choice in anything - we were dragged into "the truth".
but then i realized there is indeed something i regret. that was ratting out my best friend for having sex with a worldly boy. i was just a kid and told if i didn't tell what she was up to, Jehovah would be very displeased and that was what Satan wanted, et cetera et cetera... anyway she got a horrible beating from her mother, was disfellowshipped and kicked out of her home to go live with her wolrdly aunt.
i'm sorry wanda. forgive me. i love you. and i hope you got out.
