well... yeah.
You follow me??

i mean is there really duality in life and universe??

was it not jehovah?s promise to never kill humans again by means of massive floods?
i guess knocking on 100,000 deaths is just a minor slip-up.
knowing the response of jw's to the horrible situation in asia and their reasoning of it, makes me feel indescribably sick in the stomach!
maybe they meant this rainbow (shudder)...
actually, the covenant has a disclaimer of sorts... the word "all". i guess "thousands" are ok...
12 And God added: ?This is the sign of the covenant that I am giving between me and YOU and every living soul that is with YOU , for the generations to time indefinite. 13 My rainbow I do give in the cloud, and it must serve as a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 And it shall occur that when I bring a cloud over the earth, then the rainbow will certainly appear in the cloud. 15 And I shall certainly remember my covenant which is between me and YOU and every living soul among all flesh; and no more will the waters become a deluge to bring all flesh to ruin. 16 And the rainbow must occur in the cloud, and I shall certainly see it to remember the covenant to time indefinite between God and every living soul among all flesh that is upon the earth.?

without consciousness nothing exists.
plants aren't concious, but they exist. some people think ameobas and even fish aren't concious, but there they are, swimming around... i never bought into that "i think therefore i am" idea.
also, if a tree falls in a forest and there is no one to hear it, it still makes a noise. same way a phone ringing in an empty house.
and we are all connected, yet we are all seperate entities.
(and forgive me but i don't know anything about quantum mechanics, Borh's uncertainty principle, or Bell's Theorem... i just think what i think. )
in the few months before -- and years after -- my exit from the org.
he was one of my favourite authors.
i read most of his novels and he really helped me to think "out of the box".. other fans around?
Siddhartha.
i got it for my son to read someday, and in it i wrote "Walk against the crowd that will soon follow, for it is always the brave soul who swims proudly against the tide in the dull, crowded sea of sameness."
(i forget who said that originally)
facts and reality can get so distorted in the witness subculture that huge blind spots.
are created.
as the current saying goes, "they just don't get it".
socks first.
then shoes.
then shoelaces.
a wave of destruction will .
destroy america's east coast
by ian gurney .
Boston would be hit first, followed by New York, then all the way down the coast to Miami, the Caribbean and Brazil.
well that tears it. i'm not moving to greenwich village then...

this guy needs a friend...and a life.
definitely a few fries short of a happy meal.. http://www.flyinhi.freeservers.com/.
Darn it, I knew I shouldn't have worn the sunglasses
or the trenchcoat. or the hat. very suspicious...
anyway, this is an email i received this morning.
don't want to give any disrepectuful comments about it as this tragedy is overwhelming and i am grateful for any who have come out of this alive.
but yet i am still suspicious of any of these jw reports.
hmm... nothing here about this tragedy:
or here:
there is, however, a fascinating article about our friend the ostrich:
Fleet-Footed, Flightless, and Fascinating? The Ostrich Observe the remarkable design of the largest bird in existence. |
is is just me, or did every congregation have a big (as in greater than in the non jw world) problem with this?
how have some been affected?
I think my mom told me that there's a rumor in my old congo that I am now a prostitute with several babies from different fathers, with a nasty drug habit.
omg, i'm sorry but that just cracks me up!
good grief.
anyway, my older brother came out to the elders... out of the closet, that is. he was still a virgin, but i'd hear nasty rumors about how he left because he was having sex with several worldy men, which was totally not true. he wanted to come clean and tell them he was gay and because of that he couldn't be a witness anymore. only then did he decide to explore.
(heh, he told me he used to get excited reading passages from leviticus, and would fantasize about this brother or that during talks. i was shocked, 'cause i never did any fantasizing of any kind, and thought everyone was like me. braindead.)
i thought they weren't supposed to tell lies...

Some were spared because they were attending the meetings when the 30-40 foot high wave hit their village along the coast. Two brothers visiting Thailand from Finland were saved because they were in field service when the wave hit the tourist area they were staying at. When they returned to their cabin it was destroyed along with others.
see? meetings and field service are GOOD FOR YOU...
I wouldn't trust giving my money to any wordly organization. It wouldn't get there, only in someone's back pocket.
here's just a few "worldy organizations" that aren't profiteering from this tragedy... http://www.sarvodaya.org The Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement started 47 years ago. Beginning in just one village and extending the movement to a total of more than 15,000 has been a fascinating adventure. Initially it involved an education program aimed at enabling students and teachers to live and work with the most remote village communities in Sri Lanka to assist with their self help initiatives. Within nine years, however, the ?service learning program? had expanded into a full-fledged development movement in hundreds of villages, with the goal of a comprehensive and nonviolent social transformation. During its first 15 years, Sarvodaya grew with hardly any foreign aid or state support. http://www.oxfam.org.uk/index.htm Oxfam GB is a development, relief, and campaigning organisation that works with others to find lasting solutions to poverty and suffering around the world. http://www.unicef.org http://www.redcross.org At least 80,000 people have lost their lives in East Africa and South Asia in the aftermath of the earthquake and resulting tsunamis on December 26. The American Red Cross reports that emergency assessment and first-aid teams were on the ground quickly and are already working with local groups to support relief efforts... http://www.directrelief.org/index.html Since 1948, Direct Relief International has worked to improve the quality of life for people in need. We focus on health ? by providing essential material resources to locally run health programs in poor areas around the world and during times of disaster. Direct Relief International is a non-profit, non-political, and non-sectarian organization that provides assistance without regard to race, ethnicity, political or religious affiliation, gender, or ability to pay.
