UK Radio 4 Programme
by Demitrius inif anyone is interested in the uk, there is an interesting programme on radio 4 monday 24th, 8.00pm.
entitled "bigots or believers" i don't think it deals with jws but other 'cult religions'.
however, it may invite comment after the programme where you can take part.

astrology (?) / happy b-day to me
by SpiderMonkey ini'm spending the week more or less lounging around my place on vacation, & today's my birthday, so i thought i'd ask all you hopeless apostate types <eg>, what's your take on astrology?
for years i thought this was a ridiculous practice, even after leaving the dubs.
but after reading a book that breaks down which planet was where on which day, and how each "affects" me, i don't feel i can blow it all off as coincidence or as one-size-fits-all doubletalk.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)
Week of June 13, 2002
Normally I encourage you to pursue your heart's desire with relentless ingenuity. Make it your top priority, I counsel. Let no lesser wishes distract you. Be aggressively persistent. In response to current astrological currents, however, I suggest a temporary shift in strategy. For the next few weeks, Gemini, take your cue from the approach described by Clarissa Pinkola Estes in her book Women Who Run With the Wolves. "All that you are seeking is also seeking you," she writes. "If you sit still, it will find you. It has been waiting for you a long time. Once it is here, don't move away. Rest. See what happens next."
*** i don' t take daily horoscopes seriously. but i do love to read linda goodman. she's amazing. her profiles of the attributes of each sign are incredibly accurate. accept no substitute.
signed,
~another geminip.s. happy birthday.

Online love
by StinkyPantz indo you think it's possible to fall in love with someone online?
assuming they give you a real picture of themselves and are honest about themselves.. is it possible to love this person before you meet them?
i'm not talking about the kind of love you share with your friends, i'm talking the real deal.

Often times, in the one-on-one-touch-see-feel dating "game," people are swallowied in purely by looks rather than the human soul that lies beneath all of the superficial stuff.
give me one-on-one touch-feel- any day. people can make themselves out to be anything in cyberspace, but not in reali life. you can discern a lot more by looking into someone's eyes than you can ever discover in a chat room. besides, i would be lying if i said looks didn't factor into it somewhere. (if you want to call me shallow, that's ok. i know i'm a million miles away from shallow...)
luv,

what has most influence on JW's?
by sleepy inwhat or who , do you believe has the most influence on how jw's lead their lives?.
is it the watchtower mags, meetings, circuit overseers , governing body, peers,or something else?.
i was trying to think about what most influenced me and i think it is the group pressure we recieve in the org that pushes us most to do things.

peer pressure, without a doubt.
if you don't show up to a meeting. even if you're in traction. that phone will be ringing off the hook, and your concerned brothers or sisters will be calling you to ask why you weren't there, and if you're "alright"... oh brother

So Would You Enjoy Blood For Grub?
by Englishman inon 2 recent occasions i have been joined for breakfast by 2 separate individuals, both ex-witnesses.
stunningly - to me anyway - both were absolutely appalled when, for my "choose any 7 items for 1.99" brekky i opted to include black sausage.
just love the way those black bits mix into the egg-yolk, mmm!

Your View On Capital Punishment
by Dutchie inwe all know the bible's view on capital punishment.
in fact, in the 1969 edition of aid to bible understanding, the author notes the following: .
"the value of life is considered so sacred by god that the blood of a murdered person is viewed by him as defiling the earth and such defilement can be cleansed only by shedding the blood of the murdered.
