At a 2 day assembly ...the point that the brother spoke about that drove me mad....."don't hug your husband, wife or child during prayer".
by crazy2try ini attended one day of a two day assembly and did ok until the very last talk.
the brother was from bethal and well jw's pay closer attention to their talks, cause that is when some new info is given,,,right.
well anyways i lost focus and began to daydream, cause it became one of those talks that just talks about wasting time.

I recommend cattle prods up the arse and then sitting in a tub of water for all of them. Cures that anal retention immediately.

Ah, basically, it's work for us for free and give up any sort of normal life. Yeah, new toilet, same old shit.
I think I heard that talk in 1975-96, which is when I quit going to ASSemblies.
Yes, dumbass and if Adam hadn't been thinking with his little head, there'd be no YOU standing up their talking out of your own Johnson, according to your own beliefs!
God, just reading this makes me want to go blind! How can you stand to listen to this....ugh.
*wanders around the room, swearing and shaking fists, and other acts of total frustration*

Did your K Hall have "Vomit" carpet like this?
by Open mind inthe hall i grew up in had hideous carpet from a company in georgia, usa that was purportedly owned by jws called "world carpet" (not very spiritual sounding in retrospect).
i saw this monstrous stuff all over the usa.
i'm pretty sure bethel facilities even got some of this stuff back in then.. .

One hall I went to had the seats upholstered in a big block plaid of orange, green, black and gold. It was like looking at lumberjacks on LSD.
I swear, it used to give me headaches...either that or the crappy flourescent lighting.

Toward More Colorful Speech; Please Contribute!
by compound complex inlitotes: a form of understatement or intensified expression.. .
a figure lean or corpulent, tall or short, though deviating from beauty, may still have a certain union of the various parts, which may contribute to make them on the whole not unpleasing.

IF you were God...
by zeroday* inwould you need worship...think about it, you're god what would you need of worship...you made life isn't that enough, did you make it to grovel upon the earth seeking your approval ready to spite it at any infraction to demand of it total loyality or destroy it at your whim because it didn't meet to your approval...why would you create it in the first place why would you need it....

If I were God...well, first of all, I'd get me a really nice car...and...
Nah, if God is as amazing as people say, he doesn't need us....we need him.
I doubt he's all lonely and needs wuv from humans. Snap of the fingers and a whole new bunch of little heavenly buddies to hang out with or a new solar system to play with.

Well, if nothing else, I have the fact that the Society had my very alive brother listed as "deceased" rather than DA, and yet, the elders treated him as DA for years and made him get reinstated by jumping through all sorts of hoops.
His psycho ex was the one who wrote the DA letter and signed his name in the first place. Oh, but they never could find that letter, either.

Who wrote the book of Revelation?
by Doug Mason ini commented elsewhere that some believe john the baptist might have been the author of the book of revelation.
i thought i should start a new thread on this subject, since the subject might be of interest to others.. over the centuries, several names have been put forward as the author but, as i wrote, some only think the firebrand baptist might have been the author, but no one really knows.. i have provided a scan from a book that discusses what we know of the author as well as canvassing possible candidates.. the pages are available at:.

Some of it is Isaiah re-written somewhat, so I'm pretty sure they were acquainted with the Hebrew scriptures.
But, man, I want some of what they were smokin. Good stuff!

Actually I think it's all a plot to sell us more feminine deodorant spray.
But seriously, the only Faithful and Discreet Slave the Bible talks about is Christ.
It's just him, if you're a Christian, you don't need anyone else. He didn't abandon Christianity and he doesn't need the help of a bunch of pretentious and deluded humans.
