  How do you FOR SURE jw's Do not have the truth?

  Encyclopedias will tell you that the fall of Jerusalem to Babylon happened in 586/87.

  The same thing happens to me everytime I eat a Cadbury egg washed down with a Coke and Jack while having sex.

  No, seriously, transcendent ecstatic experiences are real and happen for a variety of reasons. I can have one doing Buddhist inspired meditation techniques I've practiced, I have a feeling of floating above my body, going into other realms in my mind and even feeling it viscerally. I use certain kinds of music, poses, mental imagery.

  Many church services with their atmosphere, music and rituals duplicate that, I'm sure.

  Taking a trip and never leaving the farm. No pot required, but sometimes helpful. *G*

  I'm good at self hypnosis too...some people are better at this stuff than others, but it's a totally inherent human ability, I think.

  I tend to think what we call the paranormal is just that too. Sensory weirdness. Subjectively, it's very interesting and even fun most of the time.

  Revelation 19:1-The Great Crowd is in Heaven...no mistaking it.

  Hebrews: 1: 6-10, The angels worship Christ, Paul quotes scripture from Psalms about YHWH or Jehovah in the NWT (Lord) and applies it to Christ, the Christians were worshipping Christ as God.

  That stuff about "obeisance" of the angels not being worship, well...look again at vs. 8. "To the Son he saith, "Thy throne Oh "God" (in the original YHWH) is for ever and ever".

  For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

  6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

  7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

  8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

  9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

  10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

  There's a lot more, but those did it for me, and that 607 BCE nonsense, which doesn't correlate with any known history. Without 607, you can't play bible hopscotch and get to 1914.

  Without 1914, well...the last days, the annointed class, Christ's "presence" all invalid.

  A man wouldn't notice it going in much, but because the points are one way, it's pulling it off without major oWWWW that's the key here.

  A porcupine's barbs or a fishhooks barbs are designed the same way, much easier going in, major damage when they come out unless you're very careful.

  There would be no pain going it...the pointy bits wouldn't stick in unless you tried to remove the device.

  Question about vasectomies

  years ago i remember reading something published by the watchtower about men not being appointed as overseers if they had a vasectomy i have searched the cd library but cannot find the information does anyone remember where i might find that information?.

  I remember a couple of Witnesses who kept this on the QT because they thought it would keep them from becoming elders. I also knew a sister who wouldn't get a tubal ligation because she felt it was "mutilation".

  When she found out many sisters had had one for years, she just about freaked. One sad case I know was of a sister who refused a hysterectomy when she was diagnosed with advanced cervical cancer because she thought it was mutilation and would displease Jehovah.

  She was told that we're not under the LAW, but decided her conscience wouldn't allow it "just in case". She had other treatment and is still alive, but not doing well.

  Personally, I think she was just afraid of "losing her womanhood" as she put it and this was a convenient non-reasoning.

  when in field service, was there any stupid rules that had to be followed?

  i was reading the topic on sisters having to sit in the backseat even if it was their car.

  made me think of a few rules i was subjected to.

  one was we were not allowed to have a radio on.

  Folding the magazines and tracts a certain way before leaving them. I had an elderette come down on my like a harpy from hell over that again and again.

  I told her, "It's been a while since I was treated like I was a kid, thanks, you make me feel so young." Sarcasm!

  Also, at our KH, you had to make field service arrangements for a partner privately before you went out. If you showed up without prior arrangments, everyone got pissed, because they had their partner arrangements made. I was twice sent home without going out because no one would include me in their arrangements with a "you should have made arrangements ahead of time".

  Our KH had some serious clique issues, which were addressed time and time again by COs, but ignored totally because it didn't suit them. Weird combination of screw the societies arrangements (but not in a good way) with "follow the society no matter what" going on there.

  PARADISE EARTH OR HEAVEN? OR BOTH?

  the jw's teach about the hope we have for living on a paradise earth.

  is that what jesus taught when he came to the earth ?

  the last time i checked he was referring to heaven, not earth.

  The Earth, the literal planet, simply cannot exist forever, so if humans could live forever, in a few billion years or so, they'd have to find a new home even if the planet were still habitable at that point.

  When our sun goes nova, or changes to a white dwarf or whatever happens to a medium yellow start after a few billion years, earth won't be quite so cozy.

  Actually, with the current predicted changes in climatology, the earth will probably before long be considerably hotter and wetter in some places, drier in others. We're going to lose a lot of our coastal features as the ice caps continue to melt, or in a few thousand years or so, have another Ice age.

  Not sure I want to be around for that...our last Ice Age, the human population got pretty low, from what the Human genome project can figure. Maybe as low as only around 10,000 individuals on the whole planet.
