Were you a good witness in school?
by keyser soze ini have to confess that i really wasn't.
it wasn't that i was bad.
i just didn't do all the things that were expected of me.. i remember being envious of those kids they would interview at meetings and assemblies; the ones who could stand up in front of all their classmates and talk about "the truth".

The View is an American daytime talk show. Basically it's 4-5 useless talking head bitches sitting in a circle gabbing about whatever comes up.

if a child abuser wants to get reinstated
by looloo inwould he have to admit to all he was accused of but denied in court concerning various witnesses , acouple of them are jws so could they possibly get them all together in the same room ?
the two victims are now in thier 30s and if so couldnt it open up a can of worms for them if he admitted to the offences that were more serious than the ones he had admitted to and got a prison sentence for ?
or do you think they would just tell him not to bother coming back because of the shame he has brought on the congregation , surely he wouldnt be allowed back if he did not admit all he had done , does anyone know ?.

Wow happpyexjw, that is just plain wrong and horrible. I am so sorry to hear that you had to endure what is probably the most painful thing a parent could ever experience. How sick and twisted that the perverted fuck just got some counsel and then that was it. To me, something that wrong and perverse is a reason to kill a man.

To Fade or Not To Fade... An Opinion.....
by AllTimeJeff injust a couple of set of ground rules i would like to set for this.
frequently, one of two options for those who want to leave jw's are 1) a purposeful, public, resignation (or disassociation as jw's call it) vs 2) what is commonly called in the ex jw internet world, "the fade".
i know that emotions run deep on this subject for good reason, because of what is at stake, and all that is perceived to be lost.

I am currently DF'd and a few months from (most likely) being re-instated. Upon re-instatement, I plan on pulling off the aforementioned "The Fade" tactic.
Why?
Because I love my family more than I hate the b0rganization, that's why. My entire family was raised as JW's, it is all they know. As such, I only hold them partially accountable for being so mentally enslaved. Yes, it has hurt me very deeply that they've utterly shunned me since I've been DF'd. I hate to quote a scripture... but I will anyway: "love does not keep account of the injury". My family is good peoples.
I work for a large company in a big corporate environment. In my heart, I don't give two shits whether or not this big Fortune 500 operation all goes down the toilet. However when you're at work in front of your superiors, you put on your game face and act accordingly, being a company man, towing the company line, wanting all the best for the company for the sake of perpetuating your position there and career advancement. That's just the way the world works, you're going to have to put on an act at some point in order to move through life when circumstances arise in which the benefits of doing so outweigh the cons.

Personal details held at Branch level.
by JWFreak ini found it so interesting to see what information is held about you at the branch office, if you are or were an appointed man.. for instance.
name, address, date of birth, date of baptism, all dates where you have been an elder, ms etc, all the congs you have been appointed in.
s2 forms, letters of introduction scanned and available to read.

Things the Watchtower Doesn't Do
by metatron inwhen examining a complex situation, i often find it useful to consider what isn't being said and what isn't being done - and why.. there are some major things that the watchtower hasn't bothered to do.
1) many congregations are full of ex-elders and ms's - almost to a point i would find embarrassing, if i were them but they don't seem to have any approach to getting these brothers back in the saddle.
neither do they seem interested in why these brothers quit and what could be done to prevent it.. 2) since the emergence of the internet and its challenges, they haven't made any deep or concerted effort at a witchhunt to clean disloyal brothers out of the organization.

I agree just as much for the kids, since meetings are SO kid-unfriendly. Meetings were always a huge amount of work for us parents with young kids, since there are virtually no provisions to help out. All we had was the back school to get away, or just don't go to the meetings.
LOL, so true. To me the highlite of the meeting was to have an excuse to get up and go in the back school. Then for the second half I would watch the clock until the halfway mark, then make a trip to the water fountain.

No, Gareth says that he is not baptized, and uses that as his excuse for posting on the internet and talking with apostates. The guy has close to 16,000 posts on there. He's a JW apologist machine.
To be fair though, I like having the stray JW defender here and there. It was listening to both sides of the story that opened my mind enough to see the JW faith for what it really is in the first place.

The site is busy as hell, but the signal to noise ratio there is horrible. If you think it's bad having Ninja and John Doe gunk up the works, you ain't seen nothing until you spend a few hours on Topix.

Your take on Genesis 3:15?
by restrangled inin the latest new yorker magazine they cover r. crumb's newest work, an illustrated version of "the book of genesis" it's in comic book style.
i was a little put off by some of the pictures, but he brings up some interesting points.. one of which, "..... it would be crazy to try to find any spiritual meaning in genesis: "it's much too primitive.".
sure enough, in one of his pictures he quotes genesis 3:15 and it dawns on me, is it just talking about the future of snakes' and mankind's relationship and nothing else?.
