Questions about video/audio recording of meetings
by DT ini was thinking it might be beneficial for people who are facing disfellowshipping or disassociation to get some kind of recording of the announcement that they are no longer one of jehovah's witnesses.
it could possibly be used as evidence in a lawsuit.
(i know that's next to impossible in the current legal climate, but that could change in the future.

Seeing old watchtower aquantances
by jacethespace ini havent posted here for quite a while, since jwd changed websites in fact, but had to relate this.. a few days ago i bumped into some of my local congregation members i havent saw for quite a while.and said hello to the guy i knew and chatted with him while his wife was in the local store.first thing i noticed was the attitude that i had gotten away from and in fact was one of the reasons why i decided to leave.he told me that the org was moving forward and guiding them better than ever and said that it would be better if i didnt come back because i wouldnt beable to keep up with the progress of the org.although he said he didnt want me to go down with the world.his arrogance was just wrong.i told him the bible says that every man will be found a liar and he said it depends how you interpret it.his wife came out the shop and was much more pleasant and then another member i hadnt saw for a while came over to them [ i think they had been out on a boasting session] and i said hello.however she said hi but practically ignored me.the whole experience was just so sureall that i couldnt help but think that it encourages people not to listen to them and left quite angry.baring in mind i live next door to an elder and see him often.some seem to look down on you when you stop going and others just dont bother talking to you as i they are above everyone else.. jacethespace.

What a crock of horse shit. I would spit in the guy's face and walked off.

What is the address of the blog with the recordings? I'd love to hear them.

How many of you have seen situations where the ELDERS DISAGREED?
by BonaFide ini have spent literally hundreds of hours discussing with the c.o.
or other elders how some of us elders disagreed with a certain elders' actions and what could be done about it.
or that a certain elder was doing a certain thing, or acting a certain way.

Never made it to elder level, but I have been in congregations where the differences and disputes of elders became very public knowledge.
At one Hall I attended in Kansas City, the PO was somewhat of a Godfather figure. He had his favorites in the hall and everyone knew, his son was publicly reproved, lost all his privileges, and was back to reading the Watchtower on Sundays within a few months, every time he was out in service he never left the car, just drove around checking on the groups and chatting with them a bit before going to the next group. Anyone who wanted to go anywhere in the hall had to kiss his ass to do so.
He and a more newly appointed elder (who was a by-the-book kind of guy, would never dream of stopping for a donut in field service, etc) argued in front of people on more than one occasion - they just did not see eye-to-eye. Long story short, brother ByTheBook was eventually deleted as an elder. The following week we had a local needs talk on respecting those taking the lead among you, and he left the Hall and moved to another congregation.
Fast forward a year, and we have a new CO - one that sees through the PO's Godfather-ness. He immediately shuts him down, removes him as an elder, and asks him to go to a different congregation.
It sure was a wacky few years in that old hall lol.
“By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.”—JOHN 13:35.

Experience - Did some "Yoga" at the Gym but was scared of demon attacks....wierd!
by Witness 007 inyes the watchtower says yoga can "open ones mind to demonic control..." so, i wen't to a class at my gym held be a pregnant instructor who was not dressed as a witch???
was her baby the "anti-christ devils child" i thought to myself in my witness mind.
we did some relaxing streching and i still did not feel under control of demons!

You may not have had enough spiritistic influences in your yoga class to get the full demonic experience out of it. Next time you go wear a Smurfs t-shirt, sit on a ouija board, wear a bracelet that you bought at a yard sale, watch a Disney movie before attending, then listing to some heavy metal music on the way. That should do the trick.

"Michael Jackson knew it was the truth, that's why he left his kids to his JW mother"
by BonaFide ini talked to a couple of my friends that are jw's this week about this, they said, "well, obviously mj thought it was the truth, that's why he left his kids to his mother, so they can be raised as witnesses.".
why didn't he leave his kids to his brothers?
he has several of them.. bf.

"Well, obviously MJ thought it was the truth, that's why he left his kids to his mother, so they can be raised as Witnesses."
Funny how JW's will damn someone to death and Armageddon and be joyful over it, but they're happy to use anything that such a person might say to prove the truthfulness of their faith.

Sorry to sound like such an ignorant dolt (I can't help it, was a loyal JW for almost 30 years, had nothing above a highschool education), but what is "White Hacking"?

"Unconditional love"...is there such a thing?...i am not sure........
by oompa inthat phrase is on this site a lot....and although i have been judged a bit by my old friends......i also do not think i can have friends without conditions......like if i had a friend.....and found out he was beating or abusing his wife.....esp if she was also a friend....that would be a "condition" where he would no longer be my friend....so what does it mean...what about you?....oompa.

Loyal JW's are not capable of unconditional love. You cannot be fully and truly loved by a JW unless you are also a faithful JW. This is a recipe for family disfunction and a painful, hurtful thing to undergo once the supportive love of your family is pulled out from under you in a flash.

Watchtower says "Field Service Report NOT a Major Concern!"
by UnDisfellowshipped inthe watchtower, june 1st, 2005 issue, pages 14-15:.
"saved, not by works alone, but by undeserved kindness" (study article).
(paragraph 1): "christians [...] realize that in jehovah's service, right motives are more important than personal accomplishments.

Agree'd with those who say they're just covering their asses. This article won't change anything on the local congregation level. You can bet your ass that the elders will still hound people for their times, have local needs talks on low field service hours, etc.
