District Convention
by helpaJWwife inmy husband and i had a "planned" getaway for memorial day weekend.
he told me to choose the place, i chose maine....needless to say he was thrilled, portland so happened to be hosting the district convention that weekend....he did attend some of it, not me...i went shopping..they released a new book...for those of you who are interested...over 5000 in attendance.

Help me with the logic of this
by Magwitch ini was married for 20 years to a brown nosing, power hungry elder.
his headship was so overbearing i was basically a prisoner.
he would not let me associate with my dear parents (father an elder, mother a pioneer) because they were too liberal as witnesses (they did things like save seats at the assemblies when we were told not to).

Is the Kingdom Hall a good place for ugly guys to get pretty girls?
by donny inabout two weeks ago i was having lunch at an establishment that has tables set up on the outside (actually a sidewalk) and as i was waiting for my order, i overheard two guys talking at the next table.
a homely guy who had a pretty girl on his arm brought this response.
"wow man, look at that!

I have been to a few meetings and the memorial and yes i have noticed the ugliest men with pretty women. i am never surprised by this in any situation. ugly men tend to treat women better because they are aware of their ugliness and know that they need to keep a girl happy to keep her around and if by chance they are a pretty girl they work extra hard...however that is in the real world.
in the world of DUBS these women who want to have a husband who practices the same faith as they do (as they are taught to, apperantly) have little choice in the men. the hall i have gone to has very few attractive men, well in my opinion. they give me that "controlling husband" vibe, which a smart women can pick up a mile away.
my husband is very attractive and definatly stands out at the hall. he better wear his ring at those meetings, i am a "wordly girl" and have no problem choking the hell out of one of them if they dare look at him twice.
so ugly men go ahead and find you a pretty jw girl however.......expect a boring sex life!!!!

Wow!!!
This will not happen to me! I may have only been married 6 months but this is my second marriage and I will do everything possible to keep it together. I can't beleive all the storys about elders cheating. Really? It's scary to think that the ones that are guiding my husband in his religion are possibly fakes. I assumed that JW marriages where pretty stable as long as both were beleivers....even though his JW parents are divorced, it still shockes me.by the way what is a DUB?? I'm still learning.
