Where does the Governing Body say "old light" comes from?

the governing body claims they've received "new light" from jehovah every time they change their doctrine.

so where did the "old light" come from that's being replaced?

if the old light is incorrect, could it have come from god?

Is there any other world wide religion who exclude (disfellowship) brothers through the use of God's actual name?

Escaping Indoctrination - Faith Isn't a Virtue.

the unknown writer of the gospel of john put the following words in jesus' mouth, "blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.".

persuading countless generations that it is a virtue to believe incredible things on insufficient evidence, is one of religion's cleverest tricks.. the more incredible the claim; the more flimsy the evidence; the stronger the belief; the greater the virtue.. this is the exact opposite of how we operate in every other aspect of our lives.. rational people must demand objective evidence for everything they are asked to believe.

"extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence".. leaving the dogmatic claims of the watchtower is only a first step.

It was for me!

I don't have so much faith anymore.

What Jesus Christ said would happen, is really happening!

The overwhelming evidence drives any thought of skepticism beyond reasonable limits.

When it is already happening don't need faith that its going to happen.

How did he know exactly what would happen over 2000 years before it started happening?

Faith was a virtue.

Jesus Christ is awesome!

There is a sound of uproar out of the city, a sound out of the temple! It is the sound of Jehovah repaying what is deserved to his enemies.

One is the fate of the city under discussion. The city is identified as Jerusalem (v. 25). Concerning the city and the sanctuary, the prophecy says: “As for the city and the sanctuary, the people of the coming prince will destroy them” (Dan 9:26 NET).

The "coming prince" is Jesus Christ.

The people of the "coming prince" are Christians.

It is Christians who allow the "digusting thing" to enter the holy place. (Matthew Ch24)

The rebuilding of Jerusalem and its "holy place" began in the 1st Century, prior to 70ad (when the literal brick and mortar Jerusalem was destroyed.)

The Apostles confirm they were recently aware of this happening in the 1st Century:

Acts 15:13-18

　After they quit speaking, James answered, saying: "Men, brothers, hear me. 14 　Sym´e·on has related thoroughly how God for the first time turned his attention to the nations to take out of them a people for his name. 15 　And with this the words of the Prophets agree, just as it is written, 16 　‘After these things I shall return and rebuild the booth of David that is fallen down; and I shall rebuild its ruins and erect it again, 17 　in order that those who remain of the men may earnestly seek Jehovah, together with people of all the nations, people who are called by my name, says Jehovah, who is doing these things, 18 　known from of old.’

Yes, it is the Christian Temple that is destroyed by Christians!

What is the key to free yourself from the Organization?

they key to free yourself from the organization is having mental clarity of what is happening in relation to the watchtower, inside and out.

their basic concept is that they are god's sole organization on earth.

there really is no basis for anyone to make that statement.

The "key" is disfellowshipping!

First you have to understand the vow we made:

Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in association with God’s spirit-directed organization?

Did you say; "yes!"?

Now understand what it says in the; "Organized to do Jehovah's will" book:

When it is necessary to disfellowship an unrepemtant wrongdoer from the congregation, a brief

announcement is made, simply stating: "[Name of person] is no longer a Jehovah's Witness." There

is no need to elaborate. This will alert faithful members of the congregation to stop associating with that person.

I underlined the "key" words which legally free a person from the abominable and disgusting baptismal vow that was invented by the Governing Body to obtain veneration for themselves!

It's not really what you might think about in terms of legality, it's what does Jesus Christ think!

YOU ARE NOW REALLY FREE!

The "key" is disfellowshipping!

i am going to throw down the gaunlet.

those who know the truth but stay in anyways are complicit in actions of the jehovah witness organization.

while i am sympathetic to the very difficult choices that they have to make, their unwillingness to confront the jw enables the organization.. some of you may remember my story.

Awful experience: I threw my WT library out!

yes, i threw my wt library out: my recycle bin was full.

even if i had imagined this experience to be similar to a prisoner getting rid of his chains, this was not so.. instead, it brought up all the memories i had shared with my family where we were excited about the release of the revelation book; the clear feeling of ultimate knowledge when we showed the live forever book, the questions i had practiced with my family in the organized book, my cousins who got baptized as well.

somehow, all i could think of was only the good memories i had shared with my family and almost cried about it.. and then, i started to think of the division, the hatred and the pain that became prevalent in my family as some were disfellowshipped and thus, ostracized.

New to The Jehovahs Witness Faith and need some help

hello there i am new to the faith and have been studying for about a month.

i am very excited and hungry for the truth and have not missed a meeting or study since the memorial.

we do about 2 bible studies a week.

Watchtower Really Does Totally Take The Position of Jesus

watchtower has said that jesus is not the mediator of anyone but for the anointed.

then they tell you that they are jehovah's organization and that the flock should obey them.. basically, the watchtower corp. and it's governing body is taking the place of jesus as the mediator for people.

christianity, even by it's name, focuses on making jesus known.

Who else would have the audacity to re-invent Jesus Christs baptismal commandment other than someone who thinks they must have more authority than him?

They even admit that the "conclusion of the system of things" has not yet happened:

Matthew 28:18-20

　And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: "All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. 19 　Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 　teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things."
