This is a statement that Jesus Christ himself about 2000 years ago warned us to watch for:

Luke 21:8

　He said: "Look out that YOU are not misled; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The due time has approached.’ Do not go after them.

He also COMMANDED us on what to do when confronted with statements like the one you posted above.

So its a choice, obey Jesus Christ or the people who claim to come on the basis of his name saying; "the due time has approached".

The decision each person makes determines their true obedience to Jesus Christ.

Do not go after them

It is a decision which determines if the person is REALLY a "Christian" or not.

After all, a "Christian" is someone who obeys Jesus Christ .......................... right?

i recently became aware of the new light.

please correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't this new light concerning 1914 means that the wt have been preaching the wrong doctrine for decades?

At one time I was very uncertain about the year 1914 with all the controversy about the starting date to calculate the period.

You can see a lot of that controversy already in the posts above.

I used a completely different method to settle in my mind the veracity of 1914 that does not involve a "start date" for the calculation.

Instead I searched for other evidence which the bible infers should be available immediately prior to the year 1914 if its significance is true.

and found it with help from what was a very new resource at the time .................................... google!

Authorship of Isaiah

i am sure this topics was mentioned here many times, but when i search it, i get a lot of hits without finding anything.

my jw relatives now talks about this book as part of their studies isaiah's prophecy: light for all mankind.

i would like to know where i can find out more about the authorship of this book.

I am convinced that Isaiah is a book written about the end times.

It's about Christianity and what happens to it.

I don't not see any reason to doubt its authorship in any way.

Another conviction I have is that it is the Jehovah's Witnessess who are fulfilling the prophecies in this book.

To begin understanding my conviction I recommend that you watch the video; "Jehovah's Witnesses Covenant With Death" which examines the prophecy in Isaiah Chapter 28.

Can we excuse the R&F for ever ?

generally i go along with it when posters express pity and sympathy for the r&f jw's.

i feel this way toward them too, to a degree.. but where do we draw the line ?

we know that jw's do not have a conscience of their own really, they are told how to think and act, and they have to obey.. just as those living in nazi germany were told how to think and act, and had to obey.. but, " i was just following orders " was not taken as a valid defense at nuremburg.. as the wt descends in to becoming more and more like north korea in its do not question, simply obey !

I think the more important question is; "Will Jesus Christ excuse the R&F forever"?

Matthew 24:39

HHHHHHmmm, seems like purposefully avoiding so called "apostate web sites and forums" will not be excused!

But hey, they are being brain washed and deceived right!

Is being misled an excuse?

Deception is not an excuse!

So both purposefully ignoring information (taking no note) and being deceived is NOT an excuse.

Reading the Bible with my wife.

after she came home today from the meeting and we had a big discussion about the need for christains to meet together.

she was very concerned that i would not survive the coming big a. i suggested that we start reading the bible together (just to show her i wasn't uninterested )and try to keep up with the wt schedule.

she agreed.

But these baptismal vows are not considered valid by any Jehovah's Witness until after the candidate is FULLY IMMERSED

The second is:
Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in association with God's spirit-directed organization? Having answered yes to these questions, candidates are in a right heart condition to undergo Christian baptism."

The word organization suggests that a specific number of men are given accountabilities to acheive a common purpose.

I strongly recommend that every Jehovah's Witness determines exactly how "God's spirit-directed organization" is organized.

Page 109 of the book; "Jehovah's Witnesses - Proclaimers of God's Kingdom" provides the answer to this question.

On this page you will find a quote from the Governing Body after implementing this organization; "It has proved beneficial to have a number of brothers taking counsel together to consider the interests of the kingdom work".

By their own admission "God's spirit-directed organization" is a "number of brothers".

Yes, the baptismal vow is made to "a number of brothers" .... a man's number!
