Reniaa - what do you think about using Jehovah in the Greek scriptures where it is not a quote from the Hebrew? Did you know that this is done many times - especially in Paul's writings? I believe the evidence shows that they take liberty with the translation that no honest Christian could accept as proper.

Can't scan it tonight, but will do so soon. I'm awaiting another response (they take about 2 months to tell me they're too busy) And when I finally decide to leave (DA) I'll post the entire back and forth for the forum. It is a funny one I wrote the branch - they told me they were too busy ask the elders. The elders took 5 months to talk to me. Found out what my questions were and then wrote to the branch to be told what to do! LOL! I know they got a response more than 2 months ago ,but they still haven't even called me. Oh well.

I like the quote "not necessary for everlating life". But it is absolutely necessary to how you are viewed in the Cong. AS an elder I recommended a brother be appointed a MS. He was one of the most loving, kind, level headed people I knew. He cared for older ones and young ones, but I was overruled because he didn't report enough time. Nothing even reminded of Christ in that discussion.

What is dishonest to me is that most witnesses think the NWT puts Jehovah in ONLY where it quotes from the OT. This is totally untrue. It inserts it whereever a literal translation would damage their teachings. I'll gladly provide a list (even though it is in your reference bible) if you need it.

Spike - You think someone would reap corruption from the flesh, from a transfusion forced upon them? Why do you go to the doctor if you aren't trusting in man to solve the problem? ............. I can understand the point that God's clear commands come before all other considerations, but It has been shown many times that the prohibition agaist blood is "eating or ingesting blood". A tansfusion is a blood "transplant" not ingestion anymore than a kidney transplant is cannibalism. ........
You may want to understand that we are not trying to convince YOU necessarily, but point out the silliness of your religions teaching on the matter. I have much more respect for someone who says "No Blood" and means it - no serums or vaccines taken from blood, no blood fractions, no "unscriptural" use of blood at all. The WTS wishy washy inconsistant teaching is unsupportable - Either No Blood means No blood or it is a conscience matter nothing in between is scripturally possible.

This is the first thing that opened my eyes. I was always OK with "imperfect men" at a congregational level. Even "imperfect men" at headquarters. But when I saw the intellectual DISHONESTY of the Org. I began to question everything and see the other misquotes, false prophecies, obvious alterations of scriptures in the NWT, ... etc.. When I asked questions about these things I was ignored cpmpletely. I received a letter from the branch saying they were too busy with "important" work to do the research to answer my questions. Now I'm too busy with my important work to go to their meetings or give another dime to their worldwide work.

Ok have you ever been asked this question in regards to Isaiah 43:10 ?
by StoneWall inhow could god have always existed since it plainly says near the end of that verse before me there was no god formed?.
here is the quote from the nwt and i also looked it up on numerous other translations and they all used the word before.. .
isaiah 43:10. you are my witnesses, is the utterance of jehovah, even my servant whom i have chosen, in order that you may.

What do you think the value of trasliteration is? Unless you've gone to school for many years studying ancient languages any meaning you take from it has a tendency to be inaccurate. People much better trained and educated than you and me have gone thru the trouble of translating the words - tho I see the value in a dictionary like Vines or Strong's to show all possible meanings of the translated word..

Trasliteration is a waste of time. I just noticed it only does the word for word interlinear on the Greek scrips. sorry. It is a pretty cool resource I use often tho.

Reniaa - Thank you for agreeing with me that it is used 1 time in a parable - where Jesus is the one represented by the object of Worship. Again you argue points that I did not bring up in response to me - Septuigint - not relevant. Did you find anywhere where proskyneo refers to "bowing down" to someone other than Jehovah or Jesus in the inspired Greek Scriptures? (Excepting where it is "bowing down" in false worship of course.) .... Spike - How do we honour Jesus as "Mighty God" , "Eternal Father" , "Lord" , and "Savior" without something resembling worship? Aparently we are allowed to speak to the heavenly Jesus - ask him to receive our spirit at death, ask him for things he will do for us as our heavenly king - but that is not prayer? OK - you can say it is not worship (in English) and not prayer, but it seems to carry the same weight to me. Again I do not think Jesus is The God, but has been placed in a position to be prokyneo-ed to. ......... The point I made about the word is that is the same word is used for "bowing down to Jesus" as "Bowing down to Jehovah". Any distnction made between the 2 is a human invention. Proskyneo means prokeyneo.
