Flying to Orlando tomorrow, my daughter is in the hospital
by coffee_black inmy daughter is in the hospital with pneumonia, and possibly a blood clot in her lung.
they'll be testing through the night...apparently, her heart is enlarged as well.
she is scared... and if her jw father catches wind of it, he will be there trying to intefere with her treatment... he lives close by to her, so i'll be flying down in the morning....to head him off at the pass.

What a great mother you are! I'm sure she will be so happy to have you at her side
I hope she has a quick recovery.

My oldest son
by mrsjones5 inis tutoring a friend who happens to have a mother who is a jw.
i've mentioned the mother here before, she knows my mother.
well, our sons have become good friends, they go back and forth between our homes to hang out and play video games.

It's a good thing Jerry has your son and you to talk to I bet it's relief for him to know he can be open with you about how he feels. Lets be honest most kids at that age are very aware that they are being feed some BS.
My 16 year old told me he knew it was a bunch of lies when he was 14. Now, like Jerry is's all about the girls!! (oh no)

My mom to my daughter: "BD party might be fun but it will make Jah sad"
by SweetBabyCheezits inwe've allow a little freedom for my jw mom to visit our daughter at lunch at the school since we're df'd now.
um, because we're idiots, maybe.
so my daughter tells me this evening that she was chatting with mom at lunch today and mentioned a birthday party she's attending this weekend.

You have every right to revoke you mothers visits I would do the same under those circumstances.
It really sucks what this religion does to families!! One day your mother will wish she didn't take your gesture and respect it, she'll never get the time she threw away by being a stubborn JW instead of a loving grandma

New kid on the block
by fadinfast innew to writing yes, to reading no, been reading here for 18 months or so.
[ been trying to join for a while now, but kept getting an error message, until i read in the tech section, throw out your cookies, so i did, my wife brought me a cup of tea and cake, and here i am, even us "bushies" know what cookies are, round pastry things, cooked to golden brown... anyway] i don't know how many have read the writing "it hurts" at doc browns http://www.docbob.org/wordpress/?p=822 i am sure many can connect to one/some of the things written at one time or other, i certainly could.
but "if laughter be the best medicine" as someone i cant remember once said, then i would like to put you people on notice, "you will all be facing a jc hearing soon" as you have had me pissing myself laughing, from the time i've been reading here, and as you all should know, laughter is a nono" not ever mentioned in km agenda "so your all bad" and i am thanking you for being so.

Hey Flipper
Our fade is going wonderful !!
The parents have finally realized they were fighting a losing battle and decided to love us anyways :) It's so nice to not stress out when I see the caller ID come up and know it was going to be a long emotional fight, I now know it will be a mostly pleasant conversation of what is going on in our lives and theirs.
I have learned keep silent at times and just keep peace... as did they. I also learned there are certain family members I have to cut off because they just will not accept our choice... it's hard, but necessary.
The elders have stepped off and have left us alone... knowing, we have nothing to say to them.
On the occasional Sat when they are in the neighborhood doing door to door they tend to send the new ones in the congregation or the young ones I think they want to avoid us as much as we wish to avoid them.
We haven't really been able to jump into all the holiday's as of yet..I think that will come in time.
The kids are really enjoying the special treatment on birthdays though!! Nice dinner's and pizza's delivered to school for them and their friends are a big hit!!

Thanks and Goodbye
by brotherdan ini really do appreciate all the help you guys have given me in this process.
but it's time for me to leave.
it was time for me to leave the wt (at least in my mind) when it became damaging to me.

Well Dan I'm sad to see you leave Many of your threads really had impact on me. I saw people coming together to support you and care for you when you needed it the most and it really touched me, mainly because when my little family went through what we did we did it alone... I hadn't found this forum yet and didn't have the loving concern and helpful words I seen so many giving you.
I hope if you are gone for good you always remember those who reached out to you in your time of need..not because they had to, but because they really cared. Remember the good because there will always be something negative to look at.
Peace out

Elizabeth Smart Cast
by skeeter1 inwow, what a testimony she gave.
she is one tough cookie to have gone through what she did.. her rapist, brian mitchell, appears to have been lds offshoot.
not only did he rape elizabeth every day, he wanted to kidnap her cousin.

Hi sherry,
I have had some funny ones as well.
Now I try to put the shunner on the spot... I make it a point to be as nice and loud as possible Huge smiles and a big "Hello so and so, It's so good to see you" Leave it in their hands to either look like a huge butt or to have the decency to say hello.
