i've talked with some good friends on the board about this before and we seem to be in agreement : one reason ( among many ) that some disfellowshipped jw's go back and return to the wt organization is because they are full of uneeded guilt or uneeded fear because they haven't educated themselves about how the wt society uses mind control tactics to deceive them into thinking they have " nowhere else to go " .

i understand that some dfed ones may go back to the organization for family and friends- however- it's an exrecise in futility because once you learn the truth about the truth you cannot undo what you heard.

so some may just go back and live a fake jw life to appease family- but just think of how that can damage a person's emotional and mental health playing the fake jw game the rest of their lives !

Like others have said, I just can't be a hypocrite. Would my life be easier if I went back? Sometimes I say yes, only because I've been going through some tough situations where I could have used some support from people I had spent 20 years of my life building relationships with.

Then, I bop myself on the head and remember why we left in the first place!! Lack of love and support from our lovely JW family after our child was abused by one of " them." The mind control runs deep in us and even after being removed from it for 5 years When something bad happened I still go temporarily insane ( I call it my JW mind ) Like I've told my husband I could never be part of any religion that harms their followers. Disfellowshipping, 2 witness rule, blood issue and all the lies that keep changing....harm people. I cringe to think I signed the no blood form twice while being prepped for surgery, all while not really wanting to but feeling I had to. It's insanity!! Yet, it was our life.

Exactly, Gingerbread. I get so frustrated when the JW's claim you can't believe what's written in the media.

I got in a pretty heated email exchange with one high and mighty sister who insisted Johnathan Holt was not a JW and how the media had it all wrong because she knew someone who knew someone that knows he isn't a witness...lol

"a friend of a friend" applied to go to an international convention this year.. they have not heard anything about whether they were accepted or not.. but recently, they received this e-mail:.

brother xxxxx:.

according to our records, you applied and were approved by your body of elders to be a delegate to international conventions outside of the united states, but were not selected.

exJW Elder and Felon in Jail

exjw elder and felony fugative, michael johnson norris, plead guilt today, 2/27/2014, in santa barbara county superior court for sexual molestation of the daughter of brandon joel, under a plea deal norris was sentenced to in state prison, a far cry from the possible 25 years he could have received had the case gone to trial.

the family has full intentions of pursuing a civil litigation against norris and the watchtower society that harbors pedophiles..

Very happy this creep will be closely monitored by AAWA after his release. Hopefully this will at least deter him from hurting another child. Of course I would have preferred a long prison sentence that would guarantee no access to children...but we can't always get what we want.

I hope the family and the brave young victim are doing well after such an emotional time.

7 years ago i started on a path i had long ago given up on as impossible.

i met with my elders and told them i could not justify carrying on as a jw.

i went and got my high school qualifications and my higher education diploma (a levels with distinction) in just 12 months.

Talked to JW's in Service Today (kinda long...sorry)

i was in my company vehicle and i spotted some jw's going from door to door.. i circled around the block and pulled over.

when they passed, i rolled down the .

window and asked the pleasant looking middle aged couple as they passed, if they were jehovah's .

You did such an amazing job with that couple. I have to admit my eyes watered reading what you shared with them. I'm sure they will have a lot to talk about on their ride home, they may not leave but I truly believe they will deal with their son with much more love!! You did a good thing :)
