It just keeps coming.... I'm so happy, yet so sad at the same time.
So many victims have been through such horrific abuse, not only by the abuser but by the religion they trusted.
I just wish them all the best and hope they are getting the help they need.

Officer Wilson not indicted in killing of Michael Brown
by Simon inafter a thorough investigation and weighing of the evidence the grand jury has decided not to indict the officer.. the reaction so far seems as predicted - people refuse to accept that the result represents justice despite claims that is what they wanted.. there is now violence and vandalism, including gunshots.
let's hope the police contain the troublemakers.. .

Does anyone here watch the show "What Would You Do?"If not I would encourage you to do so. The FACTS are if your a person of color you are automatically looked upon as a threat. We have the media to thank for that!
I've been following the threads about this case leading up to the decision. I watching the excitement growing in your comments, just waiting to be right about how it would be received. Well congratulations, you were right, the media was right and the fact that they waited to 9 pm to announce it was completely the right thing to do. It gave all the thugs some time to gather to get camera time all while the peaceful gatherings get pushed in the background!
It's great you all have opinions of what this all means. Most likely you will never be in a situation where you have to worry about how scary you might look to someone with a gun. I don't have that privilege, I have to worry each time my husband or son drives away hoping they remember to always keep their hands on the wheel if pulled over by a police officer.
Yes, I'm aware this may not be "the case" but what about being killed for wearing a hoody or listening to your music too loud?
Young men of color are targets and these protests are neccessary, so let's not pretend this is about anything other then that.

JW Friend was Married this Weekend. Tutto è bene che riesce bene.
by objectivetruth ina close jw friend of mine, got married this weekend.ever since he and i meet (13 years ago) when we were both 18 we've been close and we've experienced different life experiences together.. our qualities, have complemented each other well over the years..he the voice of responsibility and reservedness, & i the voice of spontaneity and passion.i taught him about life and he taught me about perseverance through trial.. i care about justice, he cares about reputation.he is a better person then i will ever be, but so stricken by society.. i always stuck my neck out for him, but our friendship was the thorn in his reputations side.he was on the path to mts, and i was on the path of frivolity.despite all this.. when the 2 of us were together, free from the scrutiny of the outside world he was himself, and he was a great friend.
though naive about much, he always tried to do what he could to be a friend.. i was there when he and his now wife first started dating.. i envisioned him marrying her, and my wife & i spending many enjoyable times with them as a couple.. shortly after they meet my wife & i learned ttatt.. i explained my findings to him as i did with all my friends and family.
he being a person, whom i perceived to have great deal of biblical knowledge, i expected valiant effort coming from him to "help me" see where i had erred.all i got was a email with 3 irrelevant watchtower articles & some even more irrelevant scriptures.. i would have surely been his best man, but instead another mutual jw friend was asked.i am not da'd or df'd but this is the pseudo non-invitation that he sent :.

That stinks! You are probably the only real friend he will ever have. I'm sorry his reputation was more important, but then again he is a JW and thats all they care about.

i was raised a witness, never baptized (yay) and am married to a lovely baptized witness of jehovah.. i had been trying to get back into it due to both our families being j dbs but just never could get it into my heart.

Family Gathering ( or the day also known as Thanksgiving)
by Theredeemer inevery year on a certain thursday in november my family and close witness friends would get together, eat menudo ( hispanic stew) and other foods, watch football and then get dressed to go to the meeting.. sister so and so would bring her famous pie, bro and sister so and so would bring their gross punch and bro and sis so and so would bring mexican sweet bread.
sometimes we would go to "worldy" aunt's and pick up plates of turkey and fixins.. this was every year on a certain date, on a certain thursday in november.. this continued until my mom got alzheimers.
by that time i was married and had my own house.

My thoughts are certainly with Candace Conti. I sure hope this puts an end to this legal battle you bravely took on.
I hope she knows no matter what the outcome is she has made a huge difference, because of her strength many others have come forward to expose this religion for what they are.
We may not be there physically in the courtroom, but we will be cheering her on in spirit!!

in turn, her 2 teenage children have been living normal lives.

JW's donations going to sexual abuse cases?
by Ginx ini posted in the child abuse section, but it hasn't been active for a few days.. i read somewhere on the internet (don't recall what site it was) that jw's donations are going towards sexual abuse cases.. is this true?.
where can i find solid evidence regarding this matter?.
