it's amazing to me how much i've come to life since i've stopped going to meetings and field service and the whole tiresome jw routine.
i find beauty and joy in the simple things.
for example, we never used to sleep in on saturday, because of course that was field service day.
I hear you, hey baby. I'm new to the whole thing myself and it is wonderful.
The kids are loving just being kids, no dresses and suits on Sat/Sun just t-shirts and jeans. We can choose to do what ever we want with our weekends. Sometimes that means staying in our P.J's watching movies together.
We miss some of the Friends but we'll find new ones.
the other day our meeting was cancelled and we didn't even get a call from the elders to advise us.
i take that as a sign that our fade is working.
the next step i would like to implement is not turning in a field service report.
We have been inactive for about 7 months and it wasn't until a week before CO came to town that the service overseer called to ask for our time for the last 3 months. I of course told him zero and I haven't heard back from him since. it's been about 4 months and no call so I guess all is good on our end. Well I guess until the next CO visit.

this morning the bastard that attacked my wife with the intention of raping her was sentenced to 25 years to life plus five years.
he must serve a minimum of 30 years.
thank god for the three strikes law (i know that some of the liberals on this board may not join me in my gratitude for the voters of california's wisdom in making that law).
I'm so happy for your wife and yourself. I hope this brings some form of closure for you both.
For my family once the sentencing took place it was a huge step in the healing process knowing that the criminal would never get to harm anyone again.
California is really hard on Sexual Offenders so be relived that he will have to do at least 85% of his time before he even gets a parole hearing. Not to mention he'll probably be housed with the rest of those freaks who are not very nice people.
If he's married he will never be allowed family visits (over nights)
These are a few of the things that made me feel better about not taking our offenders life out myself. Hope it helps you as well.

i couldn't imagine walking in and seeing my daughter on the floor in a pool of blood...it breaks my heart..

reading oompa's little dilemma reminds me of something my mother said to me about a week ago.
apparently my father thinks that my youngest shouldn't go on the outings that my father takes the kids on.
he questions whether the things that they are doing (going to g rated movies) is age appropriate for my youngest son joshua (he's 6).

I have a MIL that plays favorites and it drives me Loco.
don't you hate the hypocrisy when you run into a witness you haven't seen in over 5 years (even thought they live less than five miles away in the same town) and they say, "we miss you at the meetings?
" they can't call or stop bye to say hello, but they miss me at the meetings.
what crap.
Drives me crazy!! How about the..."We'll have to have you over for swimming, I'll call you." Now you have the kids asking you eveyday has so and so called?

i hated it.
we actually never really did.. once, on vacations, we were with another family, they prepared food on the table for breakfast .... and then nobody could touch it for some 15 minutes, when daddy was reading daily text and asking childish questions ... family members were raising hands and answering .... we all were hungry... watching the food ... and hoping it will soon be over (i dont mean armageddon, i mean daily text...) i felt just like an idiot..... albert.

looking back over the last few weeks, i think i've been unnessarily rude to some posters and i just want to apologize to anyone who has been on the receiving end of my anger recently.. i believe that i'm so angry, dismayed, devastated and heartbroken over what's happening to my brother in law, that i've been taking it out on others and that's not right.
it makes absolutely no difference what i think of the wts as a whole, or whether or not americans have a universal healthcare system......none of that makes any difference whatsoever when someone you love and has been like your brother for 35 years is dying and there's not a fucking thing we can do about it.. my sister just called me and there's more bad news, and that's that his disease has now progressed into the acute myeloid leukemia which means he cannot start the therapy they were going to give him, as this is far more serious now.
they want to start chemo right away, but his blood counts aren't up high enough for him to survive.

as you can see from my pic i am a white male.
my first wife (while i was a jw) was mexican american and my current wife is from taiwan.
she and i were talking about "mixed" marriages and we noticed something that were not sure of the reason.
I also heard of the wet dog thing from my black SIL who married a white man, I never heard of that before she said it.
I'm mexican american maried to a black man and have dated all races in my time... including white men and never noticed it?
Oh well, to each their own I suppose.
