Err ... that's it really!
i come here to learn, but i also come here because it feels like a private club and i'm privy to be a member of the "in" crowd.
it's a great place to socialize.
does anyone else feel that they are a member of a special "club" when they come here, that only some people in this world will understand the jw world?.

what are your thoughts?
accident or assassination?.
i still get upset over this.
It was the Queen Mother riding a Vespa scooter with Prince Philip on the back using a bazooka to blow them away. Prince Andrew flew his helicopter overhead and winched them away before anyone found out.
True story that. Honest injun. Am I still allowed to say that or is it offensive nowadays?

What cofty said.
gb member and so called "annointed" person geoffry jackson is caught red handed on video doing some worldly dancing and sexual gyrating (they have spoken against such manner of dancing on several occasions) with a woman who is not his wife!!!
i can only imagine what they do off camera now!!!.
i would not have even considerd doing such a thing on the dance floor with a woman, especially if it was not my wife, and i'm not even one of the so called "annointed" smh!!!
Adjustments - if you think this is something to get het up about you need to take a long look at yourself. Every congregation do or j.w. wedding I ever went to would have that sort of dancing and no-one would bat an eyelid and I'm from stuffy old "stiff upper lip" blighty aka the U.K.
when i was a jw several brothers (ms) told me in private that the elders had asked them several times if they did not want to become an elder.
they said they rejected because it was too much responsibility for them.
were you ever approached that the boe wanted to make you an elder but you refused?
Yes defender of truth - I believe you have hit the nail on the head as regards Quendi's non-appointment!
the letter has appeared at last - just for uk.
it is a money grab for the new bethel which has been approved.
there is a video to be shown - just watched it - brief summary of uk bethels, why current one is too small, why we need money to build a new one.
So it is about money after all, what a surprise.
They will get their money and then they will sell the London properties and get their money again and then some. Then they will distribute it back to the congregations to give each of the publishers a nice little handout .... won't they? No?
A "snare and a racket" indeed!
probably nothing of major note but there is an adjustment to the service meeting of w/c 1st september to allow for a 15 min local needs the society have asked the elders to deliver.
this is in uk and i've no idea if it affects other regions.. if it's uk only then i suspect it's either specifically about donations or more likely the status of the new branch facility, asking for volunteers/money.
given that the elder delivering it in our hall is prominent on the local rbc then i suspect the latter.. .
Thanks Londo - so it was about money after all. Quelle Surprise!

I suspect Saltheart might be right - only money concerns would seem to foist a change this big on the sacred service meeting.
If it's UK only - especially England and Wales - then that would fit. We will see ...
hi pepeep am attempting to get a current list of uk travelling overseers.
left 4 years ago and have heard rumours of many new ones.

Don Holley a Welshman who came off due to ill health/age in Oct 2013. One of the better ones - I think he was a coal miner on rescue work at the Aberfan disaster in 1966. He was in his seventies anyway and so would have finished this year under the new rules. Nice wife, Celia.
