If your meetings are a Saturday it will likely be read later in the week at the service meeting. If a Sunday probably after the Watchtower. If you are USA.

Cedars leaked letter requested to be taken down by WTBTS
by umbertoecho ini don't know if this is already posted so sorry people if it is.
cedars site has had a request to take down the leaked letter regarding changes to the theocratic ministry school and other issues.. the reason given by wt is that it is a "copyright" issue.
of course this validates the letters authenticity even more.. have a good day or night people.

Question:
If a DMCA notice is sent then can you "reasonably" be allowed a little time to A) see it and B) Act upon it?
E.g. It's sent on Oct 1st at 10.00 am. You don't open it until the next day Oct 2nd "because you're busy and asked your wife to open your emails" and because "you were on your way for a weekend break in an area with poor internet access for a couple of days" you couldn't take it down until you got back, sort of thing.

First post I’ve seen where a Circuit Overseer is trying to denigrate the Royal Commission. Are these new instructions from WT?

@vidqun
It was certainly spectacular but in a spectacular "failure" kind of way.

Writing The Governing Body Offering Phony Checks For The Child Molestation Lawsuit Pay Out Contribution Box
by Brokeback Watchtower inattached to a letter of disgust.
.
what would happen if the corporation got inundated with such letters or phone calls, would it add to the uneasiness of things at bethel?.
-
freddo
We could send these in from all over the world! One to your branch and one to USA.
"I am a Jehovah's Witness. Because of your disfellowshipping policy I have decided to remain in the congregation. I know all about your child abuse cover ups and the Royal Australian Commission and I am telling all my brothers and sisters about it.
Find attached (Fake zero dollar bill with Morris's head on it) a contribution to your pedophile defense fund to pay your lawyers and court costs to ensure you pay no money to victims.
By the way, if your Branch has been screwed over for the money and is cut back or closing please forward this to the Governing Body in Brooklyn.
Warmest Love
Ted Jaracz (or other much loved GB member)"

And if god doesn't want anyone to die then he should have sorted out it long ago. Every year that goes by and earth's population increases at about 1000 X the amount jw's increase.
That's more dying every day god holds off the big A.

Is Warwick still being built?
by Coded Logic indoes anyone know if this new freeze on all construction projects includes the new headquarters being built in warwick?.
if it does apply to it, then this really makes no sense whatsoever.
the society is poised to make hundreds of millions of dollars (perhaps even a billion) by selling the properties they currently occupy in brooklyn.
-
freddo
Yup. It's everything except Warwick. Gotta keep the lakeside retirement home (for the GB) and the gym club (for their servants) going. Screw everyone else. -

What makes WT think they can reassign Bethel volunteers to be Regular Pioneers.
by Zoos inwhen the gb cuts loose 1600 volunteers, what makes them think they can continue telling them how they will spend their time?
i've read on many of these threads that the 1600 will be reassigned.
what, are they still under some sort of contract?.

In my area in the UK I know for certain of two bethelite couples and two single brothers - all the men being MS or elders who chose to leave on their own accord within the last year. There was no scandal and they have all retained their titles.
One couple (elder and pio) and one MS have remained as regular pioneers and found jobs - the MS tells me he couldn't cope "with all the politics" and has got himself an office job working as a computer network administrator.
The other elder single brother has privately told me "the place (bethel) was driving me crazy" and he has left to go self employed as a tradesman but is still an elder.
The other couple - he is still an elder and he and his wife aren't pioneering - have set themselves up with a small catering business - are still solid jw's but they also said "bethel isn't the place we joined" and they had both been there over ten years each. "We're in our early 40's and we need to earn a living." He said to me.
So these guys and gals left before this latest set of cuts and they tell me their friends in bethel they have kept contact with are panicking like crazy over the latest announcement.

Crazy Study Stories
by dubstepped ini never really had any studies to speak of, but my parents did have many over the years, and every single one of them was batsh!t crazy in some way.
there was one lady we kids affectionately termed "dirty robin" (her name was robin) and yes, she was very dirty.
her kids were filthy and rarely wore clothes.

I remember a study my wife did and once in a while I would go with her. A simple elderly catholic woman who had never married and who lived in sheltered accommodation (a group of about 20 separate flats with older but pretty independent people who just needed the watchful eye of a live-in warden to make sure they took their meds, didn't leave gas on and had locked their doors at night etc).
So this old girl starts telling us how the rest of the block's residents are running a laundry business and that they want her out so they can make more money by putting in one of their own kind.
Of course we see no evidence but being young and naive we take her at her word and listen to her stories. As the weeks go by she tells us how she can hear all the machinery and the lorries coming and going but that when they see us coming they all go silent and pretend it's not happening.
So I'm getting a bit concerned and offer to see the warden with her and she says don't do that she's in charge of it all and in league with "them Chinese".(who ran all the laundries in England I guess!)
Anyway I insist and she gets on her knees and begs me not to because "they" will kill her and make her into glue! Obviously the poor old girl was losing her marbles so I had a private word with the warden (a pleasant lady in her 50's) anyway who smiled and said that the year before she was accused by "our study" of murdering nuns and selling their body parts to medical science.
Sadly about a month later the study got pneumonia and we visited her in hospital but she passed away. Tragic really.
I wonder if they boiled her up for glue after all?

Just 'phoned London Bethel!
by The Searcher ini asked if the new britain branch construction had stopped, and i was told that "the governing body instructed us to cease all work on the project.".

Wow! Just wow! Which department did you get through to Searcher? I know they won't tell you their name.
