Maybe I should create a new name
That's what I've been trying to say PSac! That is IF you must have a title at all.
the watchtower society and god have no similarity.. in my experience, as a 14 years-old-boy i was carrying a heavy burden of sin.
then i was told that jesus christ left all of heavens glory, came into this world and lived a perfect life for 33 1/2 years and then died on that torture stake for sinner.
as i heard this, i asked myself if i was really hearing what this man was saying.

Well I'm glad we can share a laugh together anyways, lol.
i have been watching the discovery channel's, 'into the universe with stephen hawking' and it occurred to me that professor hawking knows more about heaven (which is just part of entire universe) than jesus did.
maybe jesus knew about black holes, alien life, other worlds, the origin of the universe, etc.
jesus could have told us something so remarkable about our universe that it would have taken us 2000 years to confirm jesus' divine knowledge and prove he was the son of g-d, but he instead decided to tell us that heaven "has many rooms"- whoop-dee-doo.. i don't think jesus had a clue that there was anything out the in the physical universe beyond what he could see with his own eyes.
The religious leaders of his time saw what he did
Did anyone else? And write about it? These huge miracles?? I seriously want to know.

I think the good reverand needs to be far more christian and far less judgmental.
Sorry PSac, I can't resist. I think the reverand is representing Christianity quite well!

they accused him of sorcery
Sounds about right when things happen that people can't explain. That happens even today.
and that's what is all about, (clap, clap)
Funny! How do you do that anyways?

one of terrys recent threads reminded me of something i thought about during my awakening from the jw untruth.
it is something that now to me seems very illogical in the adam and eve story.
Don Miguel Ruiz wrote a book called The Voice of Knowledge. It's very short and easy to read and it gives kind of an "enlightened" understanding of the whole "tree in the garden", not to be taken literally according to him. It would be hard for me to repeat what he says and get it right but I recommend you read the book for another take on that subject. It was a VERY good read
your life has already begun, and you can start living in the moment right now.. everything you need to live mindfully and completely is already within you.. doing your job, maintaining personal discipline, and developing devotion toward fellow sentient beings and the care of the world are ideal arenas for practicing mindfulness and letting go of attachments.. zen meditation, or zazen, is simply but mindfully sitting to cultivate full awareness.. meditation is difficult because the mind is in the habit of attaching to thoughts, feelings, ideas, and opinions.
everyday sitting will gradually train your mind to observe rather than attach..
When I started reading stuff like that, the only thing I can say is my body resonated with it instantly. My mind didn't have to, my body told me I was onto something and I still feel that way today. The mind/ego will try to analyze and make drama out of ever thing, but the body is so much more powerful and knows what it wants and needs. You could say the mind is a little nit-picky nuisance, lol.
never have been able to, its just something i can't do.
some people can't whistle, sing or make lump free gravy... i can't spell.
i am dislexic and long ago gave up worrying about not being able to spell and instead concentrated on getting the idea accross instead.. i managed to get through collage and uni without being able to spell and now am a sucessfull business woman who misspells her emails to clients ( mind you they mispell their replys).
That's ok Highdose! The other day I was writing a friend and telling them how much I like chocolate "mouse". That's right, I spelled "mouse" instead of "mousse". I wrote, "If mouse is on the menu, I always get that". We laughed about it. Pretty funny

I'd like to add, regarding some of the "amazing" things you expect Jesus should have been able to do: He did some things that are not possible for science even today. That's some pretty advanced technology he wielded.
BTS, makes a good point. I have always thought that what Jesus was here showing mankind when he did things like cure the sick, heal the blind, lame and deaf and resurrect the dead, even walking on water and producing large amounts of food, he did those things to show man what they were already capable of themselves but just didn't know it yet. The power has always been within us. IF those things Jesus did are indeed true, and the fact that we haven't been able to do those things entirely like he did, then he would have been showing some very advanced technology, maybe even Quantum Physics itself (which is very probable to me). So when science catches up to the point where we can bring someone back to life through feeling and consciousness, then we would be able to look back on the things Jesus did and understand how advanced his "science" really was.
Just thoughts. Of course it would be easy for someone to say, he never did those things because never again has anyone else ever done them, not even the best zen masters of our time or the best scientists. But the study and field of Quantum Physics is going to blow us away here very shortly I believe.
