Anyone get divorced because of differing beliefs?

lately my husband has been miserable, but isn't talking.

he is really upset that he is "stuck with me" now that he knows i question my beliefs.

i thought we could explore the bible together and i hoped he would come to the same conclusion as me, but he won't do that.

Doesn't the Borg allow spiritual endangerment as grounds for divorce ... or is that only justification for separation?

It can only be used as a grounds for separation and that's ONLY if you are endangering her spirituality by physically trying to keep her from the Hall or her worship. That has always been my understanding, because I was the wife with the "unbelieving mate" so I've looked into this extensively. But she will be lonely without you and she will probably start wishing for that "jw mate" and it may lead to her looking around. It's sad but true. Unless of course her love for you is very, very strong.

i've never been one to believe in " ghosts " .

i'm open to the possibility that there may exist something in the afterlife or spirit world- i just don't know what it is.

having been out of the witnesses over 6 years i had my fill of being a jehovah's witness and being told how " scared " i should be of satan or the demons.

Field Service Question

i know that the wts say`s that the jw`s are ever on the increase, more people, more studies etc.

yet where i live, (a residential suburb of quite a large city), i rarely see the jehovah`s witnesses going from door to door.

i think that they`ve knocked on my door once, and i got a memorial invite pushed through the letter box a few weeks ago.

I think it depends on where you live. Here in Oklahoma, their territory is so big and rural that it barely only got covered once every two years. I've seen the jw's once in my neighborhood and I've been here six years! And it's a new neighborhood!. Now watch, we're all going to get a visit just for talking about it, great

Yeah I remember the lion one to, cried my eyes out! And I think because animals don't have a since of time, it's like the person has always been there and they don't know when their gone. It was so touching to see the gorilla on the bank of the river the next day. He wanted to see his friend

Now a college graduate!!!

wanted to let everyone know that i've finally graduated college with a bachelors degree!

ended up earning magna cum laude.. it's difficult to describe the sense of accomplishment.

i still kick myself for listening to the wts when i was a kid and forsaking "higher education".

That would be hilarious! They could borrow FS time from each other or say things like, "friends, I only need two more hours to make my time this month, help me out!!" I might play a game like that

i started reading sign of the last days by carl oloff johnson this week.

i am almost to page 50 right now, and have finished the section on world famines.

wow - he really deconstructs the idea of whether famines have increased or decreased over the past 2,000 years.

Thanks for the book recommendation, I'm going to go get it this weekend, sounds very interesting. Reminds me of what the Dali Lama said on tv yesterday when asked if he thought conditions and people on the earth were getting worse or better, he said "BETTER"! I mean the jw's wouldn't have a message if man was already making things better, they only survive on pessimism. I'm very optimistic and can feel a collective shift in people and the planet for the better!
