For those of you going to meetings, assemblies or conventions, try this.....
by awildflower inthe last official 'meeting' i went to was in january at our two day assembly.
believe me i didn't want to go but i did and took a different kind of notes.
for one i wrote down in my note book words like "faithful and discreet slave", gb, organization, fruits of the spirit, jesus, and put a check mark next to each time i heard one of them, (just like when we were kids guys!).

I can't quote it word for word but I know someone else on this board could post it, but it is to the effect that the candidate is recognizing that this org is Jehovah's channel for communicating to him. Most other churches just baptize you after you recognize that Jesus is your savior, this religion wants you to recognize that plus the emphasis on the org. So you are then tied to them and their rules for the rest of your life and when you don't want to be anymore, you get this board! The sad thing is, during the 'emotion' and the indoctrination process, you don't even hear those questions! So you don't realize what you are saying a loud yes to. That's why it's so important not to get baptized into this org!
Someone out there know how to post the two most recent baptism questions? It's changed I think three times through the years, and Ray talks about them but since I'm knew, I don't know how to put this stuff on there.

I know, that's what kills me! These people left that weekend on the look out for 'Satan' and did not leave knowing how to combat the evil with good works! Of course they said "more field service, meetings, Bible study etc....", their idea of good works, but we know how we 'felt' doing those things, not good. But what about, doing something from the heart for your neighbor, having some relaxing time in nature, taking some quiet time to yourself, exploring a talent you might have or some art, taking a trip, donating blood! Oh sorry, wishful thinking. But you know what I mean, if we focus on the positive and contribute to the collective consciousness of the planet in a good way, then THAT is how you combat evil! So this org continues to be a perfect tool for evil, all religion does. The more you can be out of alignment with the loving Universe, the more evil wins. But I think people are Awakening, I really do......

I would also recommend these books after someone is ready to move on from religion into spirituality:
1. Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth
2. Wayne Dyer's The Tao
3. Gregg Braden's The God Code (all about the tetregrammaton)
4. Gregg Braden's The Lost Mode of Prayer (I'm really into Gregg Braden)
5. A new Bible!!!
I love this thread because I love to read and I love other peoples input!

The last official 'meeting' I went to was in January at our two day assembly. Then I wrote down every scripture used and put a mark next to it if it was just quoted and another mark if it was actually read. Here were some of my conclusions after the full two days:
They used the words that had to do with the org WAY more than Jesus himself. The ONLY time I heard the word Love, and I'm not kidding, the only time, was in a specific talk about loving our family or something like that, and I never heard ANY of the other fruits mentioned at all. The scriptures we used were about the same 50 we always use, only about 10 were ones I was not very familiar with. They quoted and read about the same.
Now, granted, this was a themed program so it might not work as well, of course your going to hear certain things based on a certain theme. I can't quite remember the theme, I think it was about Conquering the Evil with the Good. I remember thinking after that weekend, that they spent so much time talking about Satan and all the evil, really keeping people in 'fear', and NOTHING except one talk on the Good. I walked away from there feeling so negative, and on a low energy frequency thinking "Satan must feel really good that they just spent the whole weekend talking about him", his plan is working even within this religion. It's like a naughty child, they don't care what kind of attention they get, as long as they get it. (Assuming you believe Satan is real).
So this did two things for me and could work for you guys: one, it absolutely sealed for me that I would never go back, and I haven't, and two, I looked like I was taking really good notes the whole weekend! But I would really love someone who is still going to regular meetings to take these kind of notes, since they are not themed like an assembly, and see what kind of results they get.
Oh ya, my 18 year old son who was with me, during the Baptism talk, actually for the first time heard the second question and I did to. We never even caught that until now. He spent most of the meeting reading context of scripture and our eyes just opened wider and wider, so I guess in a strange way, we have them to thank!

I know I loooove the Koala's! Did you see the one with the Lion that remembered it's owners. I'm sure you have it was all over the news. Check this out also. http://www.maniacworld.com/twin-baby-moose-in-sprinkler.html

I hope I'm not breaking some rule or something putting these on here. I see people doing it though so forgive me I'm new here.
And yes, the world is a wonderful place. I encourage everyone to watch Disney's new movie on Earth. It was fascinating! And so encouraging. If these were the things we focused on, I believe 'evil' would dissolve.

This was so wonderful. I'm with you, these are the kind of things that make me cry to. In the WTS, everything is 'bad news', a video like this might be examined but then the usual BUT that man's not in the 'truth' so it doesn't matter what kind of good things he does. Are you guys feeling this kind of ethical 'shift' taking place on the planet? I sure am, and I'm feeling like the majority of humans really are good, unlike the WT view that the majority of the people are wicked. I feel like ethics, which come straight from our divine being, and not just morals, where you can learn at any religion, is going to overtake the planet someday and prevail over any evil, whatever you define that as. I watch the news at night and there is always something like this on it now. Oprah has had some good shows about animals and people just doing the right thing. Laws are being passed in favor of animals, and lets not forget all the 'going green'. This is the kind of energy we need to send into the world to actually change it. Good video, thanks for sharing it.

Hi I'm new here
by BloominMarvellous infeeling guilty already about being on here, the familiar words are recalled in my mind "don't go on any jehovah's witness websites except 'watchtower.org'!
so here i am, desperate for some help.
i'm 21 and have been studying for 2 years, i was made an unbaptised publisher in february and it was all going great until i had a problem with getting a little tipsy, the elders had to come scrape me off the floor of my witness friends house and take me home.

I'm so sorry about your situation. But as was mentioned, it's a good thing your not baptized! Take the advice from this board, use this as your "out" from this org. Get out now while it's easy and then your spirituality will grow more than you even know right now. I would say to them, before they say it to you, that you want to remove yourself from the pubs list and have some time to think about what you want to do with your life. Then get out! Run! I'm not kidding, you may not understand entirely why people would tell you that, but you will eventually. You are young and have your whole life ahead of you. I had an experience with my unbaptized son as well and if I knew then what I know now it would have went completely different. You are not baptized, you still have the control! Just my opinion.

I guess we are all heretics.........
by awildflower init always amazes me how expendable we are to this organization.
especially if you are the mom of unbaptized children and the wife to the 'unbeliever'.
in my experience, i was let go and forgotten quite easily (although i get the feeling it might not be over!).

In my experience, I was let go and forgotten quite easily (although I get the feeling it might not be over!). I've heard some on these boards talk about how the elders or the gb don't seem to be to concerned with those leaving, even though it's suppose to be about 'saving our everlasting life!' Well the other night I was watching the news and a statement caught my attention and I just had to jump up and write it down. This was a political statement, not a religious one:
"We need to attract converts, we don't need to chase after heretics."
Doesn't that sound familiar? It means the religious and political intities on this planet pretty much have the same MO!
We are not going to be missed friends, but the ego will try to feed off of our individual circumstances as long as it can. The key is not to give it any 'food'!
