If there was no global flood - does this mean that the Bible is not inspired?
by Olin Moyles Ghost indo you agree that if there was no global flood, then the bible is not inspired?
here are my thoughts.. it is pretty obvious that there was no global flood 4,000 years ago.
) that there were one or more large local floods in mesopotamia around the time of noah.

Great point about getting away from the worship of the Bible. When you think about it, ANYTHING we attach ourselves to would be considered idolotry, not just the cross but the Bible itself, a group or organization, all the way down to our own beliefs and thoughts can end up being a form of idolotry........wf

Are Most Scientists Atheists?
by passwordprotected injames leuba conducted a survey of scientists in 1916. they were asked a whether they believed in a god who actively communicates with humanity, to whom humans can pray and expect an answer.. to believe in this sort of god would mean you were a theist.
if you're a deist, or agnostic, you believe there's a god but he's not necessarily interested in humans and we wouldn't pray to this god.. the results of this survey revealed that roughly 40% of scientists believe in this sort of god, making them theists.
40% didn't, making them either deists/agnostics or atheists.

Going back to the original question: maybe it has to do with the type of science. I'm reading a lot about Quantum Pysics and it's different. It seems to be proving more that their must be something out there that cares because of what they are discovering in that field. Just thought I'd throw that in there...........wf

Further proof of the cultishness of the JW religion
by undercover inno, nothing earth shaking.... just that there are two threads currently running...one asking the guys of jwn to post pics to make a 'hottie' calender for the girls and another asking the girls to post some pics.... how is this proof of how the society/jws is a cult, you ask?.
this statement was posted on one of the threads:.
can't see a lot posting in friends....too much of a risk.... it got me to thinking...even though many of us consider ourselves ex-jws, no longer believing, no longer active, no longer stepping foot in hall, no longer associating with jws other than family, it still is a risk to post your name or a photo.. the simple enjoyment of sharing real information such as a real name or a photo is dangerous to many here who, though they left of their own accord but not officially, could still be found out posting on an "apostate" board and hunted down like criminals and treated to harsh measures.

We Should All Be Extremely Proud if Ourselves!!!
by cognac inwe all somehow escaped at least mentally a cult.
considering that most of us were brainwashed, i find this very incredible.
it is extremely difficult to get people out, sometimes impossible, but we all somehow made it!.

I work with a woman who is a Christian, and I've been working with her for almost four years. She recently told me, (now that she knows I'm not a jw anymore) that she has been praying for me since I started working for her, that my eyes would be opened and I would know the true love of Christ and not be controled by this cult. Well we were talking about all the things I realized was wrong with this religion and I said to her "and I used to be one of them, " and she said "but your NOT one of them that's why you are out." It was so profound. We should be proud of ourselves because deep down we were never and are NOT one of 'them'! Think about it..............wf

Here's another idea: take a date that the org has used like 1975, dress the era, do a fake/funny profile to it. Highlight all the false dates. Like with Beth-Sarim have someone drunk on that year with the profile explaining what he's waiting for in that year (the Bible characters to come back). You know what I mean? Hard for me to explain. Or 1914 do something funny about. Surly there are 12 pivitol years/dates to highlight the funny stuff to all of it. Just thinking........wf
